Called with my name and last four digits of my social security number. Asked for $300 for $8200 grant from US government.

I laughed so hard. These people are so stupid. I could hardly understand what They were saying due to their thick indian accent, and the guy I talked to couldn't even pronounce Cincinnati. If it was someone fromt he governent they would beable to pronounce that. lol

Received a call stating I was randomly picked to receive free grant money for school. Although to receive 8200 I need to pay a security deposit of 325....and I have an hour to pay the deposit....wow this is some real BS..

yup..I got same call today.. first thief said offer 8200$...  then I call another number 2027384646, another thief wanted me to pay 340$ income tax before sending money....   to protect themself, they stop my call and they call me back...   tracing is their fear. same thief as those who steal your money from buying a house online.

It's always a scam if they say they are going to give you money but you have to pay something to get it!  Learned that from the better business bureau!  Never believe anyone who said's they will give you money for free, especially from the GOVERNMENT!  Really... THIS IS A SCAM... NEVER FALL FOR IT!

Okay this is annoying the f****ng government need to do something about scams like this , i get these calls like 3 times a year and every time its that same Indian stupid guy act like he is part of the government  and his girl keeps changing her name with unknown number first then she gives you a number to talk to her manager so stupid . Money don't grow on trees . And why pay to get money right scam scam scam ..  Washington is f****d up and its people trying to stell money

Just received call saying the US Government has a grant ( $8500.00 ) in my name, call 202 738 4646 to confirm. Some woman in broken English said I need to call and confirm code number she gave me, RIGHT! SCAM!!!

I just received a call from this number saying that I qualified for a $8,300 grant from the US government for education or home repairs and that I would never have to pay it back. They gave me this number and a confirmation code. I looked up the number on the phone and saw all of your informative comments so I told the caller that people are posting that this is a scam and she got upset with me and started defending herself.

This person from who kows what country.... says I've been chosen to receive a "good citizen" government grant? HUh? I called this A-hole back, he said I only need to pay $340, then I will be able to get my $8000. When they answer as "us treasury" right away. But, when I called the real US Treasurty Dept., you only get automated system. I asked them why they called and they ask for a conf#. Tell Them to F-Off!!!!!!!!!

Same here... Offered me 8000 saying because I was loyal citizen paying my bills on time blah blah blah. Ya right!!!! Didn't bother to call the number back!

I got the same call today but they offered me $9,250 and they told me to call this number back. There were a few things that were obvious: 1) the number on my phone said 0000000 2) the person had a thick accent and didn't speak audibly 3) they said it was a "once in a lifetime opportunity 4) I was randomly selected 5) and finally, since when does the government go and find you to give you money? Never! They only look for you if you owe them money. I did entertain their call for a good laugh

got a second call stating that i was selected to receive grant money from the US government.  First one was for 9,000 and then today's was 7,000.  do they think I am stupid?  they gave me a number to call back of 202-738-4646.  Not going to bother to call them back because the government is not just going to hand out money to some random person.
