Why not simply ask them to remove your name from their call list.  Why deprive ALS of funding to help suffering people without giving them a chance to show you some courtesy.

I too get VERY annoyed at ALL telemarketers, even charities. However, my resentment has tempered over the years since I watched my father SLOWLY starve/choke/ to death from ALS. Hope it doesn't happen to you.

PS: no sense in ranting on these sites. They are for info for you and me to advise others that the call was not legit. Certainly the callers don't read this. Just relax, breathe, buy a phone that allows for call-blocking or use such an app on your Android or iPhone or ask your phone company if they have a way to assist. For home phones, Panasonic makes a series of cordless phones (under $100) at Costco, Target, etc that allow for call blocking. Good luck everyone.

has anyone just called it back? When you do the recording explains that it makes political and fundraising calls and if you'd like to be taken off their calling list, press 0. So, just do that when you get calls. Or, simply block the number thru your phone.

Got ANOTHER one of these calls TODAY.  Answered, so I could TELL THEM TO STOP CALLING - AND NO ONE WAS "THERE"!  HOW are we supposed to 'STOP' these calls, if we can't get through to the IDIOT ROBOTS???

Call came in while on another IMPORTANT Call.  Caller ID said "ALS" which COULD be a charity (although one I would NOT support) - or it could be total BS.

I HIGHLY resent that so-called "charities" are EXEMPT from the DNC list.  If I SAY I DON'T WANT TO BE CALLED - NO MATTER *WHO* you say you are - UNLESS I KNOW YOU and GIVE YOU PRIOR PERMISSION TO CALL (i,e, GIVE YOU MY NUMBER!!) - THEN **DON'T** Call me.  This is MY phone, MY Phone line, in MY HOME -- ALL of which *I* pay for - NOT you...and if *I* say "LEAVE ME ALONE" that THAT IS (or SHOULD BE) MY RIGHT as an AMERICAN!!!!!

You can MAIL me 'BEGGING' info - and then *I* can decide whether to respond or not.  I can IGNORE it, RECYCLE it, BURN it or ...MAYBE, if I deem you worthy ....I MIGHT DONATE.
