I keep receiving calls from this number. When we answer, they want to verify our identity. We hang up. I tried to call the number back, and a recording says that it is not a working number.

Who is this? What can I do to screw with them?
Stephen 2011-06-06 20:41:49 Unknown
I just got a call from them. It is almost 8:20pm and I have a phone that doesn't display caller ID when I don't want it to (I love that) so I called back and a recording just stated that it was their marketing department and if I wanted removed, to press "2".
I did and typed in my phone number and they said it could take up to 60 days to be removed, but at least they said it would get done. Things could be worse.
And all this time I was hoping George Bush was trying to get a hold of me... Maybe next time.
Jim 2011-06-06 20:41:49 Unknown
wouldn't id them self.
Bob 2011-06-06 20:41:49 Unknown
They asked for me by first name only. Since I didn't recognize the company name I aske who was calling. They said HSBC and asked if I was available. I tiold them no and they said they'd try back.
I filed a do-not-call complaint and added the phone number to my phone's memory with no ring just like all the other companies that break the law.

just got called by some stupid sounding girl with a dopey giggly voice. the phone call (part giggle girl and part computer) lasted about 30 seconds before i hung up. i couldn't get the b!tch to shut up and tell me who the he!! she was annoying. don't bother answering the phone, it sounds to me that they want to get as much of your voice recorded as possible to use later on. beware.

They called and didn't even leave a message. :(
Was really hoping it was the Feds or something fun but no, it's some gay credit card bull...
I swear, if its not my inbox it's my f'n phone getting spammed. And of course the feds won't do crap about it, they are too busy trying to start a world war at the moment...
We're on the list and that does s(#%... well, it does give spammers a nice list of numbers to harass. >:(

I just received a call from this number. On Caller ID it was listed as a Washington DC Call. I answered using the nickname I go by. The lady on the other end asked me by my first name which I don't use. When I said she wasn't here and asked if I could take a message, she said "no" that she would call back and hung up. Well, you can bet I won't answer the next time. It's really awful that you can still get these calls when you are on the no call list.

They called and asked for my husband by first name, when I asked what is was about they hung up. I am tired of getting these calls! They don't ever stop!

HSBC Card SRVS
Number: (773) 922-5409 City: Chicago State: IL
Number: (231) 732-2866 City: Morley State: MI
Number: (616) 980-2085 City: Grand Rapids State: MI
Number: (231) 732-2865 City: Morley State: MI

Number: (917) 210-4603 City: New York State: NY
Number: (202) 747-7309 City: Washington State: DC
Shows up as HSBC Card Srvs. Credit card company says that this is not them. They also use 231-732-2866, 616-980-2085, 231-732-2865, 617-245-9613, 917-210-4603,
202-747-7309. Obviously it is not against the law to make false claims about who you are. Household bank card is not represented by any of these numbers. When will the legal system step in and stop this kind of harrassment. I block a number and BANG they are right back with a new one.

Just got called. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Oh well, looks like it wasn't that important then.

We got two calls from this number today. The first time my mom got the phone and whoever it was on the other end asked for me by name. She told them I wasn't available and that person hung up on my mom. The second time, I got the phone and they asked for me by name; not a word about being with a company, or any professionalism thereof. I know that caller I.D.'s aren't much good - they can be FAKED to show any number. It makes me wonder WHO is really behind calls like this, and WHY it is allowed to go on? There should be a Federal law in place to protect people from companies or whoever they really are from trying to hide when they call people. It should be labeled harassment! PERIOD. And if they are calling to sell me something, why are they so deceptive about revealing themselves? It's very unusual. And the icing on the cake is: we are listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.
202-747-7309 2008-09-03 03:42:07 Telemarketer
Telemarketer called, but would not disclose any information about the name of their company. She just said that they were calling on behalf of HSBC. Every time I asked for the company name she said "I'm sorry, but I cannot discuss the account with anyone but (My name). Finally I got a supervisor on the line and got their customer service number :800-853-4169. I informed them that I am on the nation wide DO NOT CALL list and asked not to receive any more calls.

I TOO HAVE MY NAME ON THE "DO NOT CALL LIST" YET TODAY THIS NUMBER CALLED ME...I ONLY WANT CALLS FROM MY PERSONAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS.
anon 2008-08-22 23:54:47 Unknown
caller ID says Washington, DC. They asked for my husband by name. When I said he was unavailable they said they'd call back another time. Next time I will converse and mention the call is being traced and that they can go to h***. I am so sick of these calls. One day it's Chicago, the next HSBC card services. I believe the calls are all related.

nocallist 2008-08-05 19:25:46 Unknown
I am on the no call list and still I got a phone call from 202-747-7309 which on my caller ID only states Washington DC.
Jerry 2008-07-22 14:36:08 Telemarketer
Call constantly. Turns out to be the marketing section for Orchard Bank credit cards looking to add services and such to an account. An account we don't even own oddly enough and when finally confronted with that information they tried to convince me to open an account.
No thanks.
