LOOKS LIKE A SCAM TO ME

Got another fax today 09/09/2008 from 202-747-7514.

I just got another one of these letters today. Unfortunately I responded back on 6/4/08 and they tried to take our money.

Identifying themselves as U.S. Department of Transportation. Requesting financial information. If it looks and smells like a PHISH?it?s probably a PHISH!! DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS FAX!! They are trying to acquire your financial information to RIP you off??duh!!

The fax is a scam.  If you go to WWW.dot.gov you will see an example of the same letter that they are saying is a scam.

Where do you report these scam artists?

Received a fax from these people yesterday as well.  Wanted to do business with our business.  Why would you need our banking information if they want to pay you for a service...........

We got this same fax this morning.
Who would release banking information from a fax request?

Also recieved the fax.  I definately believe it is a scam.  It does not have an official government seal.  Also, the letterhead and letter do not reference a contact phone number to verify.

Same thing, received a fax that purports to be from the US Dept of Transportation and wanted us to fax them our financial information.  My guess is that this is a scam.

Also recieved fax from "USDOT" requesting bank info.  I believe it's a scam.
