I did receive a call (voice mail) from this character that I have to call the 202 number since I have a federal complaint against me.  It is scary and threatening.  I am a senior citizen and am shaking ever since I listened to this message.  The caller had a heavy accent and was difficult to understand him.  It was a threatening, cold voice.  Can someone help me?  How should I proceed. Thank you

Somebody called and left two messages on my home telephone on 9/27/13 that I needed to respond within two hours to a notarized arrest warrant or else I will be arrested. He spoke poor english with bad pronouciation, some words cut off, sounded like a male voice with spanish accent. I could not understand his reason for this. I have been through a similar experience sometime back. At that time I reported to the local police. They told me that it is difficult to locate these people and take action. They advised me to ignore their calls. Some of these people may even operate from outside the country!! I know yesterday's incident is a scam. I did not bother to call back. It is simply a nuisance. I hope law enforcing agencies will find a way to track them down and put an end to this, since they are using the names of the govt agencies for their scams. I came to learn that the senior citizens are targetted frequently.

The guy left a voice mail to call John Shoemaker at 202 760 2344 because he has complaint against me from Federal Bureau. If I did not call John Shoemaker, I will have arrest warrant against me. I was given two choices - either call John Shoemaker and settle the case, or surrender myself to local Sherrif office or he will have me arrested.

The number shown on the caller ID was 911.

So, I called local police department and told them this. They said it was a scam and police will NEVER call to let you know that a warrant is coming your way.

PLEASE report these types of crimes to your local police. It seems like that this guy has been extorting money from people. More you report, more likely it will be that he will ultimately get caught and be jailed.

Very similar to BA's report.  Guy says his name is Steve Williams from the LA county sheriff's office and is giving me a heads up because there is an arrest warrant on my name.  His caller ID came in as 911.  Asked me to call John Schumacher at 202-760-2344.  Called this number - the guy that picked up spoke poor English but put me on hold and then another voice that spoke better English.  Wanted to know if I was calling from the DC area - was already smelling fishy and this confirmed it.  When I asked who he worked for he said he was with the IRS, but no, I could not speak to a local IRS officer because my file was still "private".  Conversation got boring so I told him I would call back with my attorney.

Called my local city police but they said because it was a scam there was no avenue to report it.

Scamster stated he is a Sheriff, but gave phony badge number and address. Asked to call John Shumaker at above phone number to prevent an arrest warrant from being issued. Was very aggressive on phone. Can see how some people could be intimidated by such calls, but please don't fall for such scamsters!
