Scam
I have received several calls, all with an Indian accent, all with the same stories as above. The number was from, or routed through the DC area... 202-800-4629. Full of FBI, wanting remote access to my computers, etc. As I have an IPhone, I was concerned that they might be able to access files, etc, from my phone & to my computer through my phone, as they're linked, so I boogied on down to the Apple store & They ran some diagnostics & assured me that no one but me had been in my phone & all my apps for protection were working fine & no attempts had been made to breach them.

These calls are from scammers claiming to be with Microsoft and calling to help me "fix" Windows. The same caller has called before, always with the same message, and if you give them any information, you will be ruined financially.  The "DoNotCall" registry doesn't keep these scammers from calling, and I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't started a move to track them down and eliminate their scam operation.  The way to fix this annoying problem of scam-callers and telemarketers is to vote AGAINST every politician who is currently in office.  Why?  Because we already have laws and processes to protect us from these scammers who want to steal our freedom and security. The incompetent career politicians who are currently in office have done nothing to enforce the laws we sent them to enforce.  You can make a difference on your Primary and General Election Days by voting against EVERY politician in office - - fire them all, and by replacing them with new blood.  If you do not fire these political morons, we will continue to receive these abusive and annoying illegal scam calls from the maggots known as telemarketers.  The scam calls are a product of the career politicians who aren't doing the jobs we hired them to do.  Please be a true American and vote against ALL incumbents!

Didn't take the last three calls, they repeatedly try to get me involved, and I am a partner in a small telecom company I know I have no problems.  the problem is who or what or how do you stop these people from doing these things imagine how many people out there do not know what we know and actually give these people money

Called this morning at 8:30 or so.  Heavy accent, wanting to talk about our computer.  I told him "I will not talk to you about my computer GOODBYE" and hung up.  Have had numerous calls with similar message.  Blocking the number won't help, since they use a variety of numbers and called ID's.  I have tried asking politely for them to put me on their no-call list, I have tried sounding very angry, I have hung up on  them, and I have just not answered, IF I recognize the number--nothing helps.

Received a call from 202-800-4629 also saying that they were a Windows Server and that there was a virus on my computer kept asking them to send me an e-mail showing what to fix and he kept on giving an excuse why they couldn't send me something and then I just hung up. Going to get a whistle to use for these and all the ones for the final notice on lowering your interest rate on your credit card.

This number called me 8 times in one day. I answered the first time and hung up on him, then ignored the rest.

Today I got a call from an unknown number so I answered it and it was the same guy again, telling me he was with the Windows support system and that my computer was full of viruses and I needed to do whatever he told me to do so that I could see all the viruses and get rid of them. He did not address me by my name. If you have access to my phone number, you should know who I am and address me in a business manner. He got very angry when I told him I would take care of what ever viruses I had myself because I have an IT guy for that reason.

He further insisted that I do what he says and I would see the viruses.  I told him I would no. He got angry with me and I hung up again after telling him to stop calling.

This past weekend, we received three calls from this number - I finally answered the third one and an Indian woman stated that she needed to assist me with Windows on our PC. I wouldn't let her continue speaking and when she knew that she couldn't get anywhere with me, she hung up. I immediately contacted the FCC, who directed me to the FTC (1-877-382-4357).  IF YOU GET THESE CALLS, REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY TO THE FTC - THEY WANT TO BE MADE AWARE OF THESE!!!

They called saying we had viruses in our computer, as we do actually have them. My boss is a very gullible guy and went on with the conversation with this Indiana guy. My boss let him have access to the computer which happens to have all our business accounting information on it, bank accts, tchek system, ect. The Indiana guy told him he now needs a credit card. At least my boss wasn't that gullible. He asked the guy for a number to call back after speaking with his accountant (me). The guy then started saying unkind things about his mother, wife and kids once I refused to give him access to our credit card. The Indiana guy then said he was going to start deleting files and copying them off our computer. We seen files he was putting in the trash so I immediately pulled the main power cord from the computer. I still receive calls from this guy.

I play along for a period of time, let them lead me around my computer, act like I have no clue, just wasting their time so they can't call others. I am a network admin so I know it's a scam but if I can take up 15 minutes time that is several others they can't call.

Male from Washington DC / 202-800-4629, strong India Accent, called tried to tell me what to do about viruses on my computer, that Microsoft Windows was not letting me remove them, and that he was the only way that it could be done.    I just told him that I didn't have a computer, he said "OH, Ok then sorry for the call".     He didn't have my name - so I figured it to be a random number call in the Mid-Michigan area - with a Big Scam Artist wearing a Turbin, just trying to marry my daughter or my wife.   But, he could have the damn cat, he pees on everything anyway, hope the cat pees on their system.

Same here, saying my computer has a virus and is reporting back to their servers. I am a network engineer so I know this is a scam, I lead them on for about 10 to 15 minutes. I act like i can't find what they are talking about on the keyboard. Keeps them from scamming others and wastes their time.

Non-profit Organization
Got my first call today from these joke wads saying the same ol' "you have virus" schpeel I see folks talkin' about here. Yeah, there was the VERY heavy Indian accent from a female. I said my computer was apart and in my lap at the moment (which it wasn't), but I was still told to "click" on something on the right side of the screen etc. etc. 'till I finally said go talk to Rosetta Stone and then I hung up! I list the call type below as a Non-profit Organization 'cause they ain't gettin' nothin' from me Haha!
