I got me a phone call blocker, holds up to 1500 numbers. phone ring once then phone blocker takes over and disconnects. works great

i hate spam numbers, thank god iphone has a block caller option.

I called back to try to figure out who was calling and to get them to stop.  All I got was a recording to press 1 to be put on the do not call list.  I figured they already had my phone number and kept calling with no discouragement when I don't answer so I did press 1 and as indicated, after 48 hours the calls did stop.

This is a hospital we don't need these calls going to patient rooms.

got call from (202) 803-4955 about dental insurance ??????

This number flashed with Cust Care Dept, but I didn't pick up and the caller didn't leave a message. Guess it wasn't important.

Just got one from this number. I get at least 1 per week from different numbers on a phone I used exclusively for work and is not listed anywhere as a personal contact number so it must just be random.

Best rule to follow...Don't answer and don't call back if you don't know the number.

They hang up when I answer on the second ring. Spoofed number. I called it back from another phone line several times and it gives a fast-busy signal all the time -- FAKE!

Answered call. An automated message said "Do you need dental care?"

Definite spam!

Just got a call from 202-803-4955. I didn't answer the phone, no message was left. By the other posts on this forum, it appears to have been a scam call.

Same garbage a pure scam so don't fall for it.

When I called back from a blocked number, it asked if I wanted to removed from the list for the number that called me, to press 1.  I did, it said thank you... 48 hours... OH GOOD, my blocked number has been removed.  ;)

Spammers. Don't expect the DO NOT CALL list to protect you because these are crooks. Do you get calls from legit telemarketers? I don't just these crooks. Because the legit businesses adhere to the list. The most annoying thing about not picking up is they started leaving messages or dead air. It was last year's tactic but now I have folks blocked from even getting to my machine. I was wasting my time to see if I had a legit message on my answering machine. I couldn't listen in because my service is through the phone company and computerized.  This year's technique is to slam a phone with multiple calls hoping the party is using a blocking service that will block a call unless they ring more than once within 2 minutes. This is a land line and not a cell so they can try but not get through. I can bet you these crooks will start working on the latest call blocking feature in iOS 7 or Google voice this year trying to break through.

Why do so many posters here get mad at the government over these calls? People - educate yourself and you will feel much better after you take steps to stop the calls from getting to you. It's the same as scams on the street. Get up on what latest technique for crooks is trending. These are not legit businesses. Many of these folks aren't even in the US. Google Russian Mafia.

It's the same as purse snatchers, credit card scammers and anyone who breaks into your home or car, our government isn't going to thwart them. You put an alarm on your house perhaps. You use the alarm on your car so why not take steps to stop this bs? Arm yourself with a good app or phone service.  It's ludicrous for any poster here to think our government is going to be able to stop these crooks from spoofing a legit number, buying a service to robocall, or hiring someone who desperately needs a job from going through the digital white pages and making a call to pitch some scam service or extort us.

Sorry but I have read through the posts and people need to wise up. In addition file a report with the FTC along with an answering service that blocks calls for free. Forget Verizon and AT&T as they scam us with their charges so seek out the services. Hopefully you have a computer because you need to sign up for a free account but they work.

Yep posted something on Craig's list last week and now I am getting calls from this number.  Did not answer so I don't know what the scam of the week is.  Maybe they are offering a Congress Member for sale!!!!
Also you can't report it to the FTC Do not call site because their website is down due to Congress playing games so they can send the economy back into recession with their silly games.
Why is Congress still getting paid to do nothing.

I got a call from 202-803-4955 on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:16 am.  It was a recorded message about saving money on dental work.  The message did not give the name of the caller, but my caller ID said "Cust Care Dept."  I reported the call on donotcall.gov.

received call on 202-803-4955 did not answer phone thanks to caller id. message was on auto line saying to save on extended car warranty. Ignored the call & now blocking it.

Caller doesn't say anything when you answer the phone.  Thus, am unable to request to be taken off of any calling lists.  I also don't wish to confirm to these types of callers that they have reached a valid phone number...  so, I have reported it at the following location:  https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
