maaaan I just got a call similar  to that 10 min ago oh wow those peps are good  they even changed there number to  202-697-9898  when they told me I had to pay 250 I was like AAAAW hell naw I cant pay that ..he  said his name was john cooper

Karen insisted to us that she was not part of any scam but obviously it's a shady operation they got going on & I really hope people have the sense to google the phone number of anyone asking for their bank info before proceeding to give it to them or either way any random phone call stating you'll receive thousands is too good to be true.

I received the same call this afternoon stating it was a government grant. I reported it to my bank due to they knew my address. I spoke with a lady at the number they gave me and she proceed to say they will release the funds within 30 minutes after I give them 250 dallor donation for Red Cross. I proceed to ask why they can't deduct the 250 from the funds and deposit the rest and she got extremely angry and hungup on me. Hopefully someone will catch up with them before they clear out someone's bank account.

Just got a scam call from so called government wanting to give my son an $8,400 grant.  My son have thank goodness a bad account number!  Don't fall for it!

I just got off the phone with this karen chick and i told her to supply me with the  information for western union or money gram she could not give it to me while i am at work and she only want it this way. i am not cazy like her

I just got a call  from  karen  jones   stating that  im eligible for a grant of     8400.    I i  gooled the number and   seen it was a scam. I called back and told her to s*** my **** and i wasnt falling for their sceems.

I just recieved the same callfrom Gloria Smith, and later I talked to Karen Johns.

Hmm, maybe we can play the "NSA" card on these scammers.  Remind them that the NSA is now tracking all phones calls in the US and has the ability to determine the true number and location of those placing calls even if they are using Caller ID spoofing since they get their information straight from the telephone companies.  It might slow them down for a while.

I received a call from the same number and i was told that this is a once in a life time thing and i can get from the federal government 8,400 dollars but i needed to pay 250 dollars before she can release the funds in my account i told Karen Jones way in the hell will i give her 250.00 if the government is going to give me 8,400 I disconnect call, someone need to do something about these people.

"John Smith" called us yesterday, told us he was from Washington DC, We thought it was a scam, and were apprehensive, since this "John Smith" had a very thick accent and claimed he worked for the US Treasury. We told him we'd think on it, do some research and he could call us back the day prior.

Sure enough he JUST called back, my husband, knowing he was a scammer called him out. He admitted his name is " Moham" and is calling from Mexico, all of this he gave under duress. We prodded and poked for information, as in which terrorist organization he worked for, to which he responded "You are a f****ng liar" and that "If we don't want the money, to hang up." We insisted he give us more information, on where he is located so we could alert the authorities, to which he responded with a hang-up.

What a crock! US Treasury in Mexico? Hah! What a f****ng joke. Don't let Moham get you!

I got the same call last night and for a struggling single mother it seemed like I was finally getting a break. Foolish me! These people are pathetic and should be held accountable for all the people they do manage to luir in to get their money. Luckily I was to broke to give them a dime!

Same thing. Said her name was Karen Jones. Said I qualified for 8400 grant. wanted 212 processing fee.
