called an dsounded weird so hung up    keeps calling bACK

Just got a new phone, and got a call from them 15 minutes after activating. I pick up and they don't say anything on the other line. They called again and it was the same thing. So i called the number back it was IC Systems(googled it, its a family owned collection agency), spoke to a rep he said they are looking to contact some random person. He said he'll take my number off of the call list.

THESE PEOPLE JUST STARTED CALLING MY NEW CELL PHONE NUMBER.
THEY WON'T LEAVE MESSAGES OR ANYTHING ELSE.
I CALLED THEM AND THEY DON'T IDENTIFY THEMSELVES.
I DON'T HAVE ANY BUSINESS IN WASHINGTON DC.

THEY NEED TO STOP MAKING UNIDENTIFIED, HARASSING CALLS.  MY PHONE NUMBER is ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST!

HOW DO WE GET THIS KIND OF PRACTICE STOPPED???

hang up at 2:49 no msg left  the number called has been in service less than 18 hrs so I know that they are not looking to speak to me.  Pure spam from what it looks like

Best advise to everyone - file an FCC report.  A month ago I filed one on another number and the calls ceased and I was told they were being investigated - I also had a right to collect money against them.

Here's what you do:
1. Write down day and time of call and the number.
2. If you can talk to them - tell them to stop calling - get someone's name/company if possible
3. try and get record of 3 calls.
4. Go to the FCC website, file out the information online.
5. Expect it to take a few weeks for the FCC to respond and resolve the issue.  If enough complaints come in on the same company, they might just take care of them that much faster.

I have no debt - so  there's no reason why these idiots should be calling me.

I hope the above helps anyone in taking care of these annoying idiots.

We've gotten 11 calls from this number in the last 4 days.   We've only had the phone for a few months and apparently the previous owner of the number has someone trying to harass him/her.  When I call it back all I get is a busy signal.  When I answer it no one is there.  Telephone harassment big time.  Oh, and we don't have ANY outstanding unpaid bills or debts.

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  your  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

It's a collection agency

I am getting calls from this number.  At this moment I am in control of my bills and have no outstanding.   The number is my Magic Jack number and it is doing a good job of keeping the company busy with nothing to get.

I think that this is a good opportunity to play with their heads.   Companies like this have a one track mind.  Derail the train.   Have fun doing it.

This number has called me numerous times per day over the course of many weeks, non-stop.They never leave a message. I am on the do not call list. I finally decided to call the number back today. It started off as a recording. "IC Systems" looking for someone I don't even know. So then I tried to have my number removed from the system. Each time I tried to input my phone number, the recording repeated an incorrect telephone number back to me. Like this wasn't done on purpose! I finally got a human on the line. I told her that I have had the telephone number for quite a while and I have no idea who they are calling about, so I am not sure why they would be calling me. She said "this is the number we were provided". She claimed that they would remove my number from the call list within 24 hours. We will see about that!

Have only had my new iphone for a week and they started calling the day I activated it.  A woman "from Dell" calls every weekday around 11:30am. If I answer (which I usually don't) she acts as though she can't hear me and eventually hangs up. I have no association with Dell.  I'd love to report them and also find out how they got my unlisted number.  Curiouser and curiouser.

Just got a call from this number.  They didn't leave a message.  Don't know who it is, but if it is a debt collector like the other posters are saying, I don't owe anyone.  Must be one of those scam artists who are fishing for suckers to send them money.

TRY MR. NUMBER.  I HAVE AN ANDROID AND IT WORKS MIRACLES.  IT DOESN'T EVEN SEND THEM TO VOICE MAIL IT HANGS UP ON THEM.  I LOVE IT...

very irritating, how do we block this call? somebody suggested using google voice. i will try.

This number and another (606-496-0698) call me, literally, 10 times a day. The calls start at 8 am and continue through 9 pm. I have the numbers on auto-reject on my phone, but it is still irritating. They will not tell me who they are until I verify my address and social (which I refuse to do). The lady stated that anybody could pick up my phone and claim it is me. I responded with anybody could call and try to get my address and social, too. Idiots. I would love to find out how to report them.

It's a scumbag Debt Collector really rude too when I talked with him. Asked me to bother friends or family for the money or borrow it from somewhere or if I had anything of value to sell to pay them or further collection action would be taken.

Keep getting calls from this number and don't hear anything when we pick up.

They have been calling me repeatedly for the last week.  They actually asked me to verify my SSN over the phone and refused to tell me what the call was about until I did so.

I have had no dealings with Dell Financial Services so I have no clue what they could want and frankly do not care.  They need to be stopped though.

This number has been harassing/spamming me for the last week. Calls come in all times of the day at least 3 to 4 times. How can I get this number reported and blocked from doing harassing people?

I am not sure what these people want. It is a computer-generated call that doesn't respond when you pick up. I think that this may be a scam. I have called the number back, and the answer is a recorded message that say, "We have an important message for you."

VERY persistent. An automated message comes first that tells you to hold on. Then a real person talk to you and first thing he wants is to verify your address. (Do not verify anything unless you feel comfortable they knowing more about you than you for them.) They will call back and again even though you say you are not interested.
