We got a call from "Roger Black" with a British physicians research organization. Located in Leeds, if I heard correctly. His accent was likely Indian. Had my wife's name and knew her profession. He wanted opinions on research studies.

Got a call from this number is well.  When I answered, he asked to speak to the senior citizen in the house.  I asked him what he wanted.  He said I need a senior citizen.  Couldn't have been more obvious to me that he was trying to scam someone in my household.  I immediately hung up on him.  I'm an IT Specialist and knew he was up to no good, having received these calls before.  What a nuisance!!

Received the same call from a east indian man claiming to be calling from Toronto from Internet Service Management company and said his name was:" Eric Duran". He has asked to speak to me (aware of my name) informing me that my computer is leaking information and they walked me through viewing my system logs claiming that information is being leaked.  Tried to get me to connect to their "Secure server" to "clean my computer". Gave call back #1-888-778-1313-called it -Computer Share for Barnes and Noble  Inc. automated system?!

Same call  as everyone else above--asked for me by name.  And I had the same kind of call yesterday from another number.  Fellow had a "north american" accent, though.   I told him what a load of crap and that he was obviously just trying to gain access to my system to upload malware.  He said, "Do you really believe that?"  I said "we're not all as stupid as your handlers think we are buddy!...and BTW  F off!!"  Getting mighty sick of it though, call after call after call.  I *69'd it and the phone company couldn't "catch" it.  This was the number that popped up on the call display.

I keep missing this call on my cell while I'm at work. They've called everyday for the past week. International country calling code of 44 which is tagged to the UK. Very annoying, glad to see these posts to confirm it's just a scam call.

Very pesky caller.  Never leaves a message.  We are on a do not call list and it seems we're getting more nuisance calls than ever before.

I just had a similar call from the same Internet server Managment. Knowing w/in 15 seconds he was scamming (I've had previous calls) I played along w/ him. When I asked for my IP address from him he said he wasn't authorized to give it out. Fine, I told him I had four pcs and he said it doesn't matter which one...  He wanted me to go into the application logs on my win7 manager... Of course there are warnings and errors in there... At first I told him there wasn't any... Then playing dumb I 'found them'.. Finally I told him if he was sending me the messages (as he claimed) that he should tell me exactly when they sent the last message and what it contained but if he couldn't he could go suck a lemon because I knew it was a scam and I was trying to waste his time..... He promptly hung up :-)

I just re-dialled the number... it rang and rang... then the Verizon Wireless voicemail message came on saying the customer was unavailable =) When he called previously, it sounded like he was in a call centre. Probably sitting in a mall food court, lol....

I said no... he said they were on the right-hand side of my screen... and to go sit down in front of my computer now. I said no and hung up!

Got a call from this number today....the caller said they were calling from 'Internet Server Management' connected to and hired by Bell, Rogers & Shaw.  None of which are my internet providers.  She just didn't want to give up and she did get angry at me for not wanting to do as she was telling me with my computer.
I tried to be polite, but finally just had to hang up.
I know all she wanted me to do was open up my computer and look at the standard issue 'error' messages it contains. Then hope that my 'terror' would get me to enlist their help.  Sorry, not today lady.

Known scam.  Search on "Windows Tech Support Scam" or "Microsoft Tech Support Scam".  Microsoft even has information on their website warning about this scam.  Do not do anything they say or allow remote access to your computer.  They will install ransomware to extort money from you and likely also install a keylooger to steal your website logins and passwords, credit card information and banking information.  Microsoft does not initiate tech support calls and does not employ third parties to do so.  There is no process within windows that reports viruses or malware to a remote server.  It's all a scam.

Got the same call   "that my computer was infected"  (sounded like east indian accent).  Im also an IT person and when I asked him what the IP address that my computor was using he hung up on me.  If I was thinking I should have strung him along and got some info on what network (or web site) he wanted me to connect to then take him down.  THIS a SCAM to get private info or put some kind of key logger or virus on my compter and get some private info.  May this person and all who work there be cursed.

A caller identified themselves as being from "Internet Server Management" or something close to that.  It was definitely a long distance call, the connection was terrible, and the accent of the speaker was hard to identify.  They claimed it was a call to  warn me about my computer.  I've had one similar call like this in the past.  They claim that your computer is infected and they ask you to connect to their network so they can fix it.  What a joke, I'm in IT for a living.  I asked them to never call me again and hung up.
