I am on the "Don Not Call List"  stop calling my number 203-482--9346

My phone rings constantly with this number showing up on the caller ID... I never answer because I screen calls. There is never a message on my voice mail. Literally, they will call and not a minute later, call again once my machine kicks on.

Here's where our rules have an advantage over yours.  Debt Collectors are exempt from the National DNC List but if they use robodialers, they are still required to follow the rules pertaining to their use.  One of those rules is that they have to announce themselves.

I think you've misheard Convergent Outsourcing / Convergent USA, a longtime lawbreaker collection agency which rebranded from ER Solutions / ERS in December 2011. The secrecy is due to privacy controls built into the FDCPA. It's often among the few parts of the federal Act which scofflaw collectors consistently obey. If you're not the alleged debtor, it's illegal to discuss that person's debt. If you *are* the hunted person, the live rep wants to avoid that illegal disclosure, leading to the awkward dance of authentication you've had.

The early hangups are known formally as "call abandonment", a byproduct of predictive dialers. If debt collectors were held to the same rule as telemarketers using such dialers, I believe most would be found way out of compliance in generating too many abandoned calls.

**UPDATE** Called the number from a phone not associated with me. The caller is "Conversion Outsourcing"...they are a bill collector. I have no idea why they hang up after two rings, and never leave a message, but I wouldn't give them any personal info...they seem a bit shady, and wouldn't tell me who they were or what they wanted without me giving them my name and social security number...which, of course, I'm not going to do. They answered the phone with "Conversion Outsourcing", and when I looked them on Google, there were a LOT of people having problems with these people.

I receive a call everyday from this phone number.

I believe it is from cash call ameriloan or some online loan company. It is extremely annoying because they call more than 3x's a day, all day too. They call on Saturday and Sunday n holidays also. They also have several different numbers from several states they have call centers in too. GA, CO, NV,UT and a couple others.

Calls several times per day. No messages. If you answer, they hang up. VERY annoying.

It looks like whoever is calling from this number has been doing it for almost a year or so. I been I also getting the phone calls over and over and over. I will be reporting these scammer hopefully the police or fbi will do something. Scary s*** how can people contact you on a number you think is  so personal and private with the intention of stealing.

This number calls several times a day, no one is there when i pick up and when i call back they hang up on me. Its annoying someone needs to find out who it is.

This number calls me 6 or 7 times a day and always hangs up on my voicemail... So annoying considering my number is on the DO NOT CALL list

we received a call at 8:30 in the evening.  There was a woman on the the insisting on us giving her the last four digits of my husband's social and our address.  when we asked what this was in reference to she would not tells us and her insistance for our information got more aggressive.  Our phone # is a 'Do Not Call'.  I will be reporting this number to the legal agency involved with enforcing the Do Not Call regulations and also have an appointment with the FBI this afternoon to submit this number for investigation in case it is a scam.

I'm about to call them back on a different #. Have a feeling it's version, I owe $$$.
