Scam do not answer calls you do not know, even if there is a person they just get paid for your time, and give your number to another group just like these thieves

Just got this call today at 0906 hrs.  It rang once then hung up right away.  Blocking it now.  I'm in West Texas for reference.

Called from Birmingham Alabama.  Except last 4  digits were 5980. No msg. Texted them back. No response.  

I received a call from this number today which I did not answer nor did they leave a message. I did a reverse search on whitepages.com. Says the number is for a company called Bandwidth.com located in Birmingham, AL. I have never heard of this company.

Got the call 9:17 on a Saturday morning. Did not answer.

I just got it I'm from Birmingham area

Received the one ring call on Monday, Jan. 27 around 9:30 A.M. from this number indicated from Birmingham, AL. I am located in Sylva, NC.

Today I received another from a D.C. area code. One ring only. Lots of news stories about the latest one ring scams. These numbers are potentially connected to others out of the country according to reports.

I got a phone call from this number also. Didn't answer.  I have a Seattle area code.

I have also received a couple of calls from this number, on January 27th and today. Forgot to block this caller the first time but after reading all the posts here, I made sure to do it now.

To quell any thoughts that it might be a lucky dialed, this number has called me twice in the past week, on January 27th and January 30th. Short ring times, too short to catch it actually. No voicemail obviously. I am in the New York Metropolitan area.

The only reason I wrote this was to let others know of multiple calls from this number, not anything I have seen others discuss (at least not on the first page)

Twice this month I got a call from this number, same as everyone else. Don't think it has anything to do with neighboring communities.......i live in New Hampshire...

It has called several times this week... Hangs up after a short ring.

My mom would say the same as to blocking it and ignoring it..

Does anyone look the number up and the owner of the phone? Y'all can do that, I'm 17 and received a call from 2052065979 this morning. I would look it up but I don't have a credit card to pay for that and my mom would say the same thing. Knowing I'm the only one, someone should research and try calling the source if it's kids they don't deserve a phone to use by immature calls and. Especially to strangers?

Just got the call (1/29/2014 @ 1:14pm) - two rings, hang up, no message .. just as everyone else has stated. I'm on a do not call list, renew it every year, guess I need to renew more often.

Called at 10:00, didn't answer or call back. No message left. Located in Asheville, NC.

Received the same type of call this morning.  Telephone was able to ring twice and then hang-up.  No message left.

Answered the phone to nothing but dead air and an eventual click.

One ring and hung up on my cell. Glad I didn't answer after reading these comments.

Same caller from Alabama. Did not answer.

This number called my home phone which is on minutes not unlimited and I am on the "DO NOT CALL LIST". I didn't answer. How can I report numbers that ignore the no call list? I am in Kentucky.

I got a call from this number (205-206-5979) at 9:30 this morning. The call supposedly came from Birmingham Alabama (very easy to fake).

Should they call again, do not answer, and do not call them back. Answering will give them a confirmed number for a real human being (generally a computer is dialing random numbers).

Got a call from this number 1-23-14 think it's a scam

I'm located in Missouri, didn't hear the phone ring, so I called it back.  Got that woman talking about a rewards card.  However, I waited on hold to see what they would ask me (you know, DOB and private information); however, after being on hold a message said good bye and it hung up on me.  I'm not sure who these stinking phishers are!
