this number called & stated card ending in 82 then hung up on answer machine.....not sure what's up but going to wait till they call again & going to get very nasty with them......probably spam or something illegal,,not going to give them any information but a piece of my mind

I received calls on 6-22-09, 9-24-10, 9-26-10 from this #. They have called late at night staying on the line, and NOT saying anything exscept for some type of Ebolic sounds.

Here's the real answer:  That number is for a BellSouth computer center in Birmingham, AL.  This is the center that processes your calls for your Privacy Manager on your line.  If a number that has Caller ID blocked tries to call you, then the computer intecepts the call and calls you first, giving you the options to accept or reject the call by pressing the coresponding number. Most government offices (Fed, State and Local) have their ID blocked. The most common reason it keeps calling you is usually because someone with a blocked id is trying to send you a fax and it autodials when it fails.  Turn off your Privacy director (1-888-575-6677) and maybe it will stop.  (ATT, in its' infinite wisdom and technological advanced operation says it may take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect-). Don't forget to turn it back on if you want it.

I keep getting a call from 1-205-970-0233 every night around 7:30pm.  It shows to be privacy
direct.  You have to push a 2 or 3 but then you are disconnected.  This must be some sort of scam.

A Mortgage Broker with "QUICKEN LOANS" called me from this number. I went to the NCAC requarding a remodification loan and inquired on the net about refinancing my mortgage and this has been happening every since.  It is a computerized message asking you to call back and not leaving a complete phone number. It starts every morning about 8:30 A.M.

I am on the list for dnc...what is going on?  Help

Received call from someone claiming to be a mortgage company

This company calls us multiple times everyday and leaves odd messages. "Push 3 to delete, etc." (It's a computerized voice.)

I keep getting calls numerous times a day. Claims to be Nielson TV rating company. Says to press 1, 2 or 3.When I picked up, someone hangs up. Suspect illegal activity because they are clearly not who they claim to be.

These A-Hole from 205-970-0233 called my house at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm last night10/20/09.  I have kids that live out of town and a call at that time of night is frightning.  What can be done to make them stop?  I am on the list already for do not call.

Someone from this number calls my house every day, at least once a day.   Sometimes a recording comes on if I answer.   If I am not at home, they make the answering machine come on, but they do not leave a message.

I second the nod for collection agencies. Birmingham agency accepts low dollar amount to hound deadbeats for owed debts. Only, they're using wardialer cassette recording systems to periodically troll through last known addresses/phone numbers to finally bug people into paying. Only, if someone else "inherits" a phone number, or an address, you've got to complain until you're blue in the face to convince them you're not the droid they're looking for.

To make an annoying story longer, my more recent series of unwarranted intrusions upon my privacy occur from Mr. Blocked Name, ph# 704 671 3096. He identified himself as a legal representative of Mork Panzig, or Mlorph Dansen, or Hart Bunsen, or Mark Burnsend, or Mmumph Urggle Inc.

Interesting, that his company changes names so often, while several of the key shareholders remain. I suggest you use a 1-use throwaway email address prior to contacting these people. They give a bogus reference number, and will not answer their phone, leave a message (air horn anyone?) at 1 800 378 2381. Thank you for listening. And don't give your real contact information whatever you do, until you confirm they're really looking for you, and not someone else. Apologies if anything I said is construed as offensive.

Jerks have been calling me from 205-970-0233 for months now, usually after 8am and before 9pm every day, no one on other line, gives me a weird five digit code for reference and then hangs up....very annoying.

Calls every day at different times, immediately hangs up. Caller ID reports PRIVACYDIRECTOR. Reported 3 times on donotcall.gov and nothing happens. Reverse lookup in YellowBook shows it to be a residential number in Birmingham AL, but when called, it's always a busy signal. Dialing 0 for the operator, they suggest calling 411. 411 has no information on the phone number. Sometimes when this number calls us, it's a recording that says THIS IS VICKY WEST WITH TARGET. Then it hangs up. Very odd, very irritating. Wish we could sue/kill this b*****d and burn his/her house down. :-(
