These people are calling me up to 4 times per day. This needs to stop I'm getting seriously fed up and angry.

I get calls on my cell from 222-222-2245, 202-470-2490 and 925-446-3778 and they are scam numbers. If you do a reverse phone number lookup it comes up as a nonexistent phone number but generating from Georgia. They call over and over, and if you don't pick up, they use "unavailable or restricted" listed numbers; and they have an auto dial the calls every 5 minutes. Needless to say this is harassment and worrisome too.
I have to shut my phone off at work because it would ring all day long. My Verizon rep told me if you get calls real early in the AM like around 2-3, it is most likely from scammers overseas because of the time difference.
I just pray it stops soon! The other day I had 4 calls from the 222 # then 9 calls from unavailable every 5 mins. until I turned my phone off or there would have been more.
The 222-222-2245 is the worse of them, and the do not call list doesn't seem to work on these either.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.

SCAM! Same exact thing. Get a call about a 7k government grant for being a good citizen (pay my taxes, bills on time, no criminal record, etc) and I need to call this number to confirm. I was asked to pay $265 to receive my money. I asked why the government would call me and not send a letter? He acted stupid and referred me to verification. They already had my address though.... Not sure how they got it. :( Good thing I move at the end of the month. Always check things out! The government will never contact you over the phone, ask money for a grant, or do all of this without paperwork. Use common sense. Hope they don't take advantage of too many people. (#2222222245)

For the last month or so, I have been selected by the United States Treasury by an person who cannot be understood, Asians, Pakistani's.. people that you can barely understand telling me that i have been selected by the Dept, to be awarded a "grant" for 7,000.00 .. now we all Americans know good and well that our government is broke as h*ll. and they never grant Sh*t! All I had to do was purchase a card, of some kind.. put 200.00 dollars in it...and in 45 min after i give them my routing num.. and bank account number...I would see the money! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I almost got suckered into this as well. I thought yes finally I can pay off a nice chunk of my student loans, as I have yet to find a good job in my field. And then stopped for a minuet and said wait this is too good to be true, I don't have this kind of luck, and then looked up the number. What do you know the f***ers are screwing with too many people how can they not be in jail? This drives me insane they are contacting students who are in need of money and toying with their emotions. This is not fair, these people need to be found out and the hung upside down for annoying and getting the hopes up of all of us. I have been called by the number 23 times now and its starting to piss me off... the number btw is 2026576443 or 2222222245 or 2026977222

I received a call saying because I am a good citizen and paid taxes on time, have the opportunity to get $7000.  I would not
put it on my regular cc or debit card, because of bank information, the man did not like the fact I would not do this immediately.

I just received a call from a 202 number saying I was approved for a grant for $7000. I kept saying what's the scam and they kept saying no ma'am this is a grant from the government. they told me to go to MoneyGram and the process would take about 20 minutes to get approved then they said I'd have to pay $300 to the bank but it couldn't be taken out of my 7000. I said finally so that's a scam I send you 300 and I get nothing back then I hung up. now I keep getting calls from unavailable that's terrible

Yes it's a total scam.  Been going around for years now.  Indian telephone scammers. Ignore 'em and don't give 'em any financial information.

Yes ive recieved a call feom a 206 866 5705 number about the same dam scam I was hyped up about it I could've rilly used it but im thankfull that I research stuff like this

I got the call as well 202 736 4662 i have to pay 230.. They have been calling me over and over but i am not gonna do it... They sound lile Indians

This just happened to me. But the call came from (203) 923-4781 CT. she told me to call Joe Lambert t 202-580-8398. She said I was selected by the government to receive 9000 which was a huge red flag! The government has barely enough money to pay people who work there. Does anyone know of a government website to report this? This violates the do not call list and regulations. They need to be stopped before someone gets taken advantage of.

i just got a call nd as they were exp;laining this grant, i googled what they were saying. I came across all this. I knew it!!!!! these people need to be imprisioned! they should have a criminal record for the money they take from these people.....202-559-7936 someone please stop them.

I also got the same call but the number displaying was 0000000. They gave me a number from Washington, D.C. And told to call on the number and provide number . I thought I will call but before calli g let me search on the net and I got this info. Next time if they  call me then I will tell them tht I know this is the scam and I will on inform to cop. I received a phone call today from a 202 area code telling me I had been pre selected to receive a united states government grant for 7000 that all I had to was call another 202 area code number with my confirmation number to receive further instruction on how to receive my grant. So I called just to see a man with a  strong India accent answered and told me to western union 330 dollars as a security deposit to secure my identity and make sure they were sending the 7000 dollars to the right person. I asked his name he gave me Michael Parker ( not a name from India lol) and told me I could visit federalreserve.gov to review so I wouldn't have and insecurities about receiving the money I had won!! BULL S*** luckily I looked on here and saw everyone's stories. People are so evil I live paycheck to paycheck and 330 is a lot of money to me glad I didn't follow thru!

They just called me this morning.....I called back after reading all of this....smh, me and some girl were on the phone for like 14 mins singing songs and she was asking did i want to Fu*k her. When i mentioned the money she kept saying, "Awww what you talking about mannn, i don't know what money mann" HaHa people are CRAZY.

206-905-9838 is the number that called me. He told me to put $175 on a green dot money pack voulcher to get registered. His name is John Parker extension #5526 ... Austin Suzuki extension #12105. Be careful you guys! Arabic speaking.. non-americans trying to scam us.

Wow I received a phone call from a gentleman called joe lambert with a thick accent saying I was chosen for a grant from the government for 7,000 gave me a confirmation of pk5006 told me to call Helen Jackson at 202-738-1189 she said so you want it in cash good you can go to the nearest western union but I have to pay a deposit of 320. And it would be refunded to me I then told her I don't have that right now but I would have it on the sixth she said that's fine she can hold it till then I then hung up from her went onto my iPad to look this up and low and behold I found so many people saying the same thing I then called her back and told I know your a scam she hung up and then I called joe back and it sounded like a fax machine wow

I just got a call saying I got a 7000 dollars grant to  and they told me the same thing but I haven't payed I wanted to check online first if it was a froud cause it sounded to good to be true and luckily I haven't payed them nothing it is also a similar number is a (206)317-1627  I got all happy cause I'm in need of money but thank god I check online first before I even finish it thank you all you people that comment cause it help me an lots more

Well I wish I could call them back and tell what I think about them...BUT the problem is there is no phone number! They Chinese people offer me grands for 3500$ and when I ask them about my address the got stacked. Poor people..they don't know how to pronounce Champaign.

I got the same number u have. When i threatened the person on the phone he said he has my information and he can really mess me up in so many words. They also asked me for $290 but i decided to do some research first and found all these comments. He got very offended when i told him i did not believe him. I this is very bad is there anything we can do to stop these people?
