Just recieved a call from 1-999-999-9999 with a woman telling me that if I called 1-206-201-2598 that I would get $7,000 sent to me from the Department of Treasury. From what I'm seeing other people have said, they get information from the online job search sites. Really sad that people who are trying to find work are getting targeted with these scams!! We are already down on our luck and out of a job and they want to mess with us more!!! Pathetic!!

Got a similar call from an anonymous number about a grant for $7,000. She directed me to 206-201-2598. Some guy named "Mark Spencer" with a funny accent from the "Garmin Grants Department" directed me that if I wanted to collect the money in cash, I had to go to a Western Union bank and PAY $250. It was supposedly a security deposit/processing fee that would go to charity and not him or the government. From there they would give me a reciept and a form and I was supposed to call him back so he could tell me what to put on the form. And from there it would take "a couple hours" to process. He also told me that if I paid the $250 then I would never have to pay federal or income taxes ever again. Wtf? Obviously a scam.
If you Google it the number is tied to a Facebook group on how to pronounce the Quran properly...

I was told to call this number due to some sort of money from the government.  I never signed up for anything and they seemed to know certain things about me that I know for a fact I have not put out there.  Any suggestions as to whom this number belongs to? (206-201-2598)

I got the same call and I am reporting it to the better business bureau of tennessee.  I believe that is what we all need to do.  And stop the foreigners that is trying to take over the U.S,  Its time we stand up for our rights.  If it wasn't for them americans could find jobs

I got the same call offering money for me if I would call the number and give them a certain code number.  After seeing other posts on this site, I am not going to call back and believe this is a scam.  Be careful  out there  --  too many  con artists out there making claims-   Always remember,  if  it  sounds too good  to be  true,  it  likely  isn't  even close to being true!

One more note.  Based on the information they shared over the phone they could have only got my information from Beyond.Com career network.  Shameful to target unemployed people looking to find a job.  Don't use that site.

I got the same suspicious call.  They wanted account information or western union, so of course I say western union as I am not giving my account information to someone who also sounds drunk on the phone.  So at first she was going to transfer me but when I said western union she just gives me that number to call back claiming it is the Federal Reserve of New York.  Of course I have worked for the federal reserve so I know this not correct.  Searching further I see this phone number is associated with http://www.onlinequranstudy.com/  a Muslim site.  Clearly a con.

they offer me 7000$ from us government only I have to call to supervisor and give him comfirmation number and pick up money from western union

they say this call is from us government and say I WIN 7000$ and I have to pick up this money at western union . they give me cod number but I newer cal ,, I think is some trick ..  so I say good bye to 7000 and never call back to confirm this messeage
