I received a request for 24 bottles of Crystal Champagne.  Was immediately suspicious as she said they would send a courier to collect after the credit card payment had gone through. I thought it was a scam and said I couldn't help her.

We received a fax over the weekend asking for Cristal champagne.  Seemed too suspicious as that's not how we sell wine/champagne.  Though the email address and fax were from "Holly Walker" at hollywalker16@hotmail.com.  I've just filed a report with the FCC.

Unfortunately I read this blog too late...after I had been scammed out of a $2800 case of Cristal Champagne...credit card did run fine, but was stolen.  Total scam...wanted to buy 2 more cases but at that time I was aware of this ficticiuos Jill Craven!  Damn!

I just got a fax for 96 john deere fuel filters and 500 ngk spark plugs from a Dave Firm. It's a Georgia address on the fax. We sell car parts not tractor stuff, so I think it's kinda fishy.

I just recieved a fax for 500 spark plugs of 7 different part numbers.
This is a scam, that seems to happen quite a bit, they are usually from Nigeria on other scam we get.

I got a request for quote as well with all the credit card information. The funny thing is, I uncovered a similiar scam several weeks ago and kept them on the hook for several days. The credit card information was actually real and so was the person, they had stolen her identity. I contacted her and she was very relieved.

I got a fax from them for prices too. A truck company asking for medical books didn't sound right. I'm glad I decided to check on internet first.

We got one of these "orders" on our bookstore fax. We are a Catholic bookstore and deal only in very specific religious titles and items, so it was clear that something was "phishy" to say the least. But I'm glad I followed up on it!

I just got a fax from Jill Cravens of Truck Consultants Limited asking for a price on 20 HP 12C calculators and 3 Stedman Medical Dictionaries. Over the years we have had a lot of these "opportunities". Most have been from Nigeria or at least out of this country and we were warned a long time ago to be careful so I'm glad I checked it out. I received a fax requesting pricing on 20 HP ink cartridges.  They will pay by credit card and send DHL or UPS to pickup the package.

This is a SCAM.
The credit card will go through.
The package is picked up.
Then, some days later, the credit card bounces back as no good.
The money comes back out of your account.
The packages has already been delivered to a third party who knows nothing.
All the contact information is no longer any good.
