These people keep calling ... I wonder how many people actually get scammed into giving them any private information ?
I was verbally abused several times and just stopped pressing 1 to talk to them. Last time I pressed one and asked them to stop calling the person said " Your Mother is a W***e" and then hung up.

Robo call saying no problems with the account and they want to lower the interest rate on my credit card. So, I press 1 for a scammer and proceed to ask them about lowering my interest because I DON'T HAVE ANY CREDIT CARDS!!!!

360-322-6708 just called and hung up after two rings. Caller Id displays BANKCARD SVCS. Added them to my do not call list. Trouble is they used up my last slot on my do not call list!

You need to get either a call blocking device or phone, you can google them. Most devices are around $60.00 and can block up to 1500 numbers. Newer models of phones are up around 250 or so last I looked. I think it depends on how bad the calls you get are what you might want to look into for blocking capacity along with what you wish to spend.
Report these callers here:

The best thing we ALL can do, is to block the calls from the "card services" scammers. Start by blocking ALL calls from both the 305 AND 360 area codes, as these are the ones most used by this "cell" of "card services" scammers.

Jimbo 2014-05-10 21:00:19 Telemarketer

A little common sense goes a long way - every time you answer these scam calls, you are telling the scammers they have reached a good working number......and if you are silly enough to press a number to have them remove you, you are only increasing their laugh time........DO NOT ANSWER!!!! After a couple of attempts & no answer, they will move on to someone who just can't wait to answer the phone and then bi*** about it. Use some common sense!
Roy 2014-05-09 17:53:52 Unknown
They don't allow dashes - between the numbers. You have to enter in this format 1234567890 not 123-456-78. Removing the two dashes will allow all the digits to fit.
Schlukitz 2014-05-09 16:27:56 Unknown
I just tried to file a complaint with DNC. For some odd reason, the field that requests your phone number will only accept 8 digits of your phone number including the area code, so the last two digits cannot be entered. D'oh?
Monronhud 2014-05-09 15:42:25 Unknown
These calls are ridiculous. We have registered for the Do Not Call Registry, but that is not working apparently. We end up getting 3-4 of these calls per day and from different locations with the same message of lowering our interest rate and urgent that we call them back and of course, it's our "final notice". Today, I pushed the button requesting to speak to a representative who came on the line. He was foreign and when I told him that I wanted my number removed, he said I could not call in screaming and cussing his help. Duh! I didn't scream and I didn't cuss. He said "I'll see that you get 20 calls today. You know I have the power to do that!". Oh, I am so mad.....................I want to know who I can get in touch with to get this stopped.

I agree, when anyone calls acting like they are YOUR credit card company, ask them questions to verify their identity an for them to identify your identity. They will usually hang up on you by then. You can also give it right back to them, ask for their credit card number, tell them they reached Bank Card Services, ask for their home phone number, ask them their religious preference or sexual orientation. Or you can just say "Operator are you tracing this call?" They will hang up on you when they realize they are talking to someone onto their game. Since this is happening at work, I would handle it like a business call but ask lots of questions they won't want to answer...and remember, these guys often operate from scripts; so they will have an response to everything you say, kind of like when you call Comcast to try to get your rate lowered.

Unfortunately, the number they have somehow gotten ahold of is my work number. I can't exactly use these strategies in the middle of the cubicle farm where I work, or I so would.
Barkdust 2014-05-07 20:02:41 Telemarketer
I've been getting the lower-your-interest-rate-calls every day for weeks from this number. Each call is my "final notice" of course -- if only!! I've been filing on the DNC list daily just to give some priority for the fed's investigative efforts.
With my phone system, Ooma premium, all of the calls are sent directly to voicemail which significantly reduces the annoyance factor. This credit card scam was one of the top reasons that we bought an Ooma well over a year ago. It does help.
Chris 2014-05-07 15:42:54 Unknown
Don't be confused with the DNC not working and scammers who ignore the DNC. The DNC is there to protect you from unwanted, LEGAL calls. The scammers ignore the laws set in place. The law goes after these guys but they just set up shop somewhere else. They spoof their phone numbers so it's harder to trace them. The DNC doesn't protect you against people who ignore the laws. Nor is that what it was set up to do.
