OMG these people are harassing me also from 206-259-9410 EXT369 all of them sound Hindu with names like Tony Black / Tim Matisse, threatening me with arrest and lawsuit's stating that they are the  FEDERAL AGENCY OF INTERNET CRIME  hired via ADVANCED CASH AMERICA and that I must pay $300.00 calling my work etc. I remember couple of  years ago receiving similar phone call and i paid $680.00 since I was scared and threatened and not knowing at time that it was a scam .This time I called my local FBI department and told them about the harassing phone calls to my work - the FBI agent was not surprised and told me to ignore them and confirmed that they r scammers. I believe that if you have ever used payday loan and at some point you stop using it they sell your personal info to the 3d parties. Hope this stops since I know 100% I paid the payday loans off and it was not even close to the name  of "Advance Cash America" .

A very expensive life lesson. When you feel up to it, spend some time reading up on scams & cons. You might also want to read up on your State debt laws.

I was scared and did what was asked and when i started looking into more information on these payday loans i never received i keep speaking to the same person.  I asked for the phone #'s to these companies and CASHUSA i just paid 609.37 to the person couldnt give me any information.  100CASH and Pedi Associates they had a recording this number is not taking calls at this time.  My scaredness I gave them what i had for my daughters bday party and now i have nothing and I call all these numbers back and i get the run around....

THIS COMPANY KEEPS CALLING MY JOB PERTAINING A DEBT, I OWE, I KEEP ASKING FOR PROOF BUT I NEVER GET ANYTHING FROM THEM, I HAVE TWO DIFFERENT NAMES A MR.JAMES WHITE OR A LEO CARZA, THE COMPANY IS FDIC OUT OF CALIFORNIA, IS THERE SOMETHING I CAN DO TO GET THEM TO STOP BOTHERING ME, THANK YOU

NEVER pay any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that you owe the alleged debt and proof that they have the legal right to collect said debt!  If you really had a lawsuit against you, you would receive a court summons via court process server, or in some cases, via certified or registered mail.  You can also check with your local courts to see if you're on the court schedule.  You NEVER get a call saying there's a lawsuit against you - only scammers and very shady (i.e., operating in violation of the law) debt collectors use threats like these.  The burden of proof is on debt collectors to show that you owe a debt to them.  As you've found out, once you pay a scammer, they sell your information to other scammers so they can scare you into paying out yet again.  The sad thing is, you probably didn't even owe the debt you paid.

Report the callers to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  When the "legal department" calls you again, advise them you're recording all calls they make to you to give to your attorney (even if you don't have one) for your own lawsuit against them for multiple violations of the FDCPA.  Keep a log of when they call - date and time.  Learn about the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and your rights as a consumer.  Again - if a caller will not mail proof of debt to you, they are definitely not legitimate.

I keep getting phone calls from this individuals, saying that I owe money to them, at first someone else from a different number contacted me the same way, saying they were from the "legal" department and I had a lawsuit agains my name, they called me at work constantly, I got scared so I took care of said debt. A few months later, I received more calls from a differennt number (345 area code), same story, same threats, again, I sent them money, everytime they ask for a different method of payment. This time, they are calling from this phone number, saying I still owe $680.00 and they won't stop calling me until I pay (again)... I blockled them from my cell phone as a temporary solution, but I know they will call me at work when I am back. I am so frustrated and don't know what else to do.
