Got a call from "888 CUST SERV" with this number. Same scam as the above, accented male telling me they had detected my computer was slow and infected with virus. I asked what kind of computer I was running and what was my browser, he said "you have Windows software, right?". Well, actually no, I have a Mac, so I told him this was a scam and I was going to report him to the FCC. He said "go right ahead" and hung up. Found this site, I guess this number is one that is commonly spoofed, unless the same jokers are running the sweepstakes scam and the virus scam...and the Xanax/Vicodin scam??? LOL.

Received a call from this number mid day.  Caller had a thick accent and proceeded to say there were viruses on our computer which they had noticed.  When asked how the man had obtained this information, he went silent.  After a few, 'hello's?...'  the called hung up.

Normally I check the caller ID before I pick up the phone, but I had just spoken to my sister and thought she was calling back. The caller took awhile to realize he actually had a live person on the other end of the line. He was hardly a smooth operator. He was fumbling, inarticulate, and yes, he had quite an accent, which certainly could have been Indian. There was a lot of noise in the background, as if he were calling from a call center. "How are you today?", he asks. Don't you just HATE that phoney solicitude? My reply was "What do you want?" He said he wanted to talk to the person who was listed as the phone owner. He did have the correct last name. I ignored that and again asked what he wanted. He said that "they" had been getting a lot of alarming error messages from my computer. I said, "No you haven't" and hung up. For the record, this phone is listed in my mother's name. She's 90 years old and legally blind. I can assure she does NOT have or use a computer!

I've received 7 calls from these guys in the last 5 weeks, in spite of repeatedly telling them not to call. I did a Google search on the number this morning, and found that Pac-West is shown as the carrier. I went to their website, and found a "report abuse" link and through that sent them an email. I found that Pac-West is a wholesale supplier of phone numbers (not sure how that works). Communications from Pac-West was courteous and professional, and a few hours later I received this from them
"We have received confirmation that TN 206-260-2004 has been blocked and" (my phone number) " has been added to the clients Do Not Call list."
Hopefully this will put a stop to these fraudulent calls, at least until the "client" gets another number.
Again, a big "Thank you" to Pac-West for their help in this matter.

This bozo just doesn't give up. Claims to be working for MicroSoft, the speal about my system having reported problems, but of course can't give any details as to the type of problem it "has encountered", nor the date or even time frame. Asked that I execute commands through the run command to help identify the problem. On one occasion I told him that I don't have a computer, but instead use the public computers at the local library. To which he insisted that the problems reported were from MY computer. Have told him on more than one occasion that I'm on the national and state do-not-call lists, he insisted that he CAN call me because he's responding to problems that MY computer has reported. One of the best ways I've found to deal with him is to excuse myself for a minute to go get a pencil, then just set the phone down and go about my business.

They called me today too. A rude man with a foreign accent. Very annoyed when I wouldn't go to my computer. I checked with a computer store. They said hang up -- nothing but a scam.

Heavy Indian accent Which I told him I could NOT understand. I told hin I was on the Do NOT Call List and to be put on his. Then he repeatably insisted that I turn on my computer so he could fix the errors my computer was receiving. I told him I would call him back later when my computer savvy child got home. He said "Okay, here is my number." and hung up. SCAM RAT. ID caller said 888 Cust Serv

robo call from 206-260-2004 on 1-15-13 @424PM shown on Caller ID as = '888 CUST SER'. This was the 4th call from these SCAMMERS (but this time they used a non-local forged number on the caller ID) and they said they R giving away a 'FREE' $400 Medical Alert System. An Angie came  on the line and asked if I wanted to hear more about the Alert system or be removed? (This is the live body SCAM screener that tries to give them more apparent "credibility".)
After telling her "yes I want to hear more about the Alert system she transferred me speedily to a Steve.
He said he was Agent 4039 (another new SCAM wrinkle to make them appear like they are Licensed in some manner). Interesting this was the first time they read back my phone number to me and asked if this was the 'good number" they could reach me at. He then started his canned talk but Poor old Steve was no match for me when I asked him "how are they going to get the call from me". He said "that would be arranged with the billing". I said "I thought this was a FREE system?" He started his explanation and I in turn started at very loud volume the YouTube Rant I found that has nothing but 'swearing and cursing'. He did not last very long talking.........

I have gotten 2 calls from this scumbag in the past 18 hours. He states we are having issues with our Windows(we have a Mac). I reporting this to the FTC.gov and we are on the do not call registry. If you have aging parents, alert them to this scam before this idiot calls them and falls prey. What a low life. I hope he is caught!

I just took a call from this number - a man with a heavy indian accent was  on the line - could hardly understand him - came is a 888 customer ser on caller id...talking about wanting to talk to the main computer owner at my address.  Something to do with Windows & my personal information is leaking off my computer.  But he could talk me through a few steps to fix it.  He hung up on me mid sentence when I said I don't know you - I have antivirus on my computer & that I trusted my IT people & not him.

I got a phone call from this number today, and i talked with him for a while, i told him multipul times i could not understand him and to please put someone on who spoke english..he said "uh, everyone else is busy"
He ended up getting very frustrated that i could not understand him, and started yelling at me. I asked how i would know he wasn't trying to scam me, and he said well i cannot connect to your computer without the internet, which is a lie. Anyways...I hung up and he called back, and i then told him he needed stop calling NOW because i know he is a scammer...he called again about an hour later but unfortunatly i missed his call, hopefully i get him next time so i can let him know i reported him to multipul agencys.. :)

If the people calling from this number are checking this web page out, I want to tell you something.  You call my number again and you will lose everything you have, including but not limited to: your home, job, business, and anything else I can get.  Get a real job, and one more thing, with the new election; I'm going to be introducing a bill to stop this type of craziness.  Get a life

The person on the line sounds like someone from India?  Seems like these same people answer all phone calls related to business, and are on the other end of the line when it's related to any customer service calls???   I'm wondering if this is a ring of fraud, and the accent is fake.

Got a call from this number twice within 30 seconds because I hung up on them the first time. All I got was barrage of foul language by some jerk with a foreign accent. It came after the person asked for someone who does not live here from another number. They asked for the person in question and when I said they dont live here HE said f*** you, N*****! All that came up on the caller ID is customer service

"Daniel" called and said that he was a representative of Microsoft and that they had been receiving a lot of error reports from my computer.  He then tried to sell me $160 worth of software to fix it.  He also gave me a phone number to call back of 415 315-9609.  After I refused to fork over the money via Paypal and hung up on him, I did call the 415 number and he answered.  415 315-9609 comes back to a company called Global Solutions who claim to have an office in San Francisco.  I have reported this scam to the FCC.
