they want YOUR money, what else

I have been getting these calls from unknown numbers and weird number combinations for days.  I normally don't answer them but today I did and I was told I was eligible for a grant for $7000 because I have never filed bankruptcy and no criminal charges in the last year and pay my taxes on time.  Wow I could sure use those monies.  So knowing it was a scam I called to see what they would say but when I called I blocked my number and used a different name.  They guy who answered asked me where I was calling from and when I refused to answer he told me not to ever call him on this number again and hung up.  When I called back he acted stupid and wouldn't give me an answer why he hung up and hung up again.  It's definitely a call center and it's middle eastern accented people calling and receiving the calls.  It's interesting how he got so mad when he couldn't get my phone number or the source of it.  hmmm makes me wonder what exactly is their reason.

I received this call from a young lady who could barely speak in English.  She kept saying "yea" "uh huh" "okay."  She gave me the 206-317-1607 number to call but her call originated from 85553354567 and there was call center noise in the background.  I was to get $7000 free money from the federal government.  She told me not to give anyone my number because they might claim my money. I just believe that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Listeners beware.  Christmas is around the corner and calls are being made so they can buy (or have) gifts.

I just got a call from a man with an accent.  He told me I would be getting $7000 from the government because I didn't have a criminal record and I paid my bills on time.  He said it was a demographic thing.  He told me to call 206-317-1607.  I called and a woman with an accent told me I would have to get a Green Dot card at Walmart with $250 on the card.  Then I started yelling.  I told her I saw this on the news in Northeast, Ohio.  It really was on the news.  She told me not to call again.

same as others who have posted. $7,000 from government for not having filed for bankruptcy! Gave the number of 206-317-1607 to call back with an ID number to get approved for this grant.  So hard to hear - you could tell there were many people making similar calls in the background.

Received a call from 206 317-1607 saying they are with the Federal Grants Dept. in Washington DC giving $7,000.00 to people who have no police charges in the last year and wanted me to call the above number back and talk with a Grant manager right away with ID# WD2407 and they would assist me in getting this money and no pay back and no taxes on it. Do whatever I want with it, buy a new car, clothes or whatever. I checked this area code out and it is in the Washington state area and not Washinton DC as they stated. Also sounded like a calling center in the background and the person was a male Asian speaking. This is definetly a scam. Why haven't the state DA's Office done anything about this yet?

recieved a call a few minutes ago saying I won a govt. grant for paying bills on time and told to call (206) 3171607 . Govt. does not call to offer free money people be careful. Guy on phone had indian accent.

I just got this same call..The lady  who I was speaking to had such an accent , that I could hardly understand her..She gave me a number to call , which was 206-317-1607 and to speak to a Davis Logan..she also ask me how  I would like the money, @ this point I just hung  up.I never did understand what the name of the company was..

I rec'd the phone call today.  I was able to call the # back.  I was told I would receive $7000 for being in a certain demographic and also because I always pay my bills on time.  I wonder how they would know that.  I said I would pick it p at a Western Union.  They did say it could go straight to my savings/checking account.  If picking up at WU I would need to put $200 on a "pin card?".  Not sure what she was saying.  I would then received my check for $7200 with in minutes.  She said her name was Kelly.  Not likely.  I hope these people get caught soon and no one gets taken in by them.  They were definately at a large call center.

i got the same call. they wanted to send the money to my bank account and hung up when I didnt give my account number. I don't think they would send a grant directly to an account, considering grants usually go to school. This smells like a scam.
