It is a call center that places calls for anyone who wants to pay them to do it.  They have called me twice this week leaving a long message from some guy who says he is a doctor and wants to help you make money in your spare time and it does all of the work for you.

You want to get your word out, this is the type of place you hire.  I too am on the DNC list, but I think my information was passed on, probably through a survey I took, the message included, you have expressed that you want to make extra money using the internet.   In surveys I have checked that I would like to make more money, who doesn't.

If they can show that somewhere you have done business with them or they are associated with someone you do business, they have the right to contact you, unless you said they can't pass on your information, you know those little boxes you check in the small print.  Sometimes it is in the small print that it is just a condition of you doing business with them period.

It is only if you can prove that you have no association with them or another group that they are associated with, then they can be fined.

Unsolicited call with no message.

I answered. They said, "sorry" -and hung up in my face (a male).

I answer they hang up.

It was a political call.

Received calls around 7:00 PM in GA from this unassigned number. I will never answer this out of state number.
Q: How did they get our phone number?

Automated survey about energy companies in Georgia with no option to opt out or speak to anyone. The only choice is to hang up, or press random buttons to tie up their line for a while.

This is why I detest elections.  Start getting campaign calls and recorded messages every day.  Problem is, these are the same people who pass the legislation about who can call your phone and who can't even if on the do not call registry...

Received another call 7/31/10, @8:30PM, same as the others. Caller ID was "unassigned" w/telephone number of (Seattle) 206 339-3733. I do not answer any calls w/ caller missing/unavailable....

Received call from 206 339-3733, 7/28/2010 @ 7:51PM. Caller ID was unassigned, with just the telephone number. Caller is from the Seattle area, 3000 miles from my home on the east coast. I have a policy of not answering any call that has incomplete caller ID, name was "unassigned" ...

This number 206-339-2733 is someone soliciting votes for some Baker guy in Ga running for something...I called the back and asked to bee removed from the list

How can I get this number who ever it belongs to .....to stop calling our number?

Do not call does not pertain to political calls.  The polititions didn't want it to apply to them.

Wow, Pluto must be a powerful guy, telling the FTC what to do, and having them "hop to" like that.

Here is a realty check for you Pluto, as your medications clearly aren't working on that whole gradiose delusion problem.  The FTC works on an aggregation of complaints.  One nut-job issuing intructions to them on how to handle a violator gets a big laugh.  A thousand rational complainants gets a "ho-hum".  A hundred thousand complaints gets reviewed with some interest.  A million rational complaints gets real action.

However, it appears that this may be a survey, and a political survey at that.  This would make the calls exempt from the DNC for two different reasons.  

But just suppose, my delusional friend, that the voices in your head are correct, and you are secretly in charge of the universe.  $1,600 ?  That will have them shaking in their boots, eh?  Especially when what they will actually end up paying will be 1/4 the original fine.  You see, the reason no one cares about violating the DNC is that it is a toothless tiger.  $1,600 is just an overhead expense to them, like the lights and the phone bill.  They figure it into the cost of doing business, and then if they do get fined on a bunch of violations, they close their doors, lawyer the fines down to little or nothing because they are out of business, and open up under a new name.

In any case, try not to be such a clueless goof in the future, you sound like Barney Fife having a psychotic break with reality.
