I also block these numbers. I no longer bother with do not call lists. I go through periods of getting these calls and I always block the number immediately. I often get several months at a time with few, or no calls.

I also had my phone # on the Do Not Call List, got a call today from 206-397-1106, recorded, something to do with gov't grants. I filed a complaint with my state (Montana) Dept of Justice because is a violation of our state law, MCA Section 45-8-216. In my research, also learned from AARP's website that it is not true you have to register your phone # every 5 years. I sure want to see this company prosecuted that's for sure. Make an example out of some of these violators.

Beware ! ! ! They Are Not Who They Claim To Be - This Is A Subversive Attempt To Verify Who You Are.
The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call. Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

Got a robo call--I'm also on the do not call registry--from this number on 6/29 and deleted immediately, too. I buy minutes for my phone...these calls use them up needlessly. Don't know what to do about it, other than join with others here to report it.
Ms Meow 2012-06-28 15:30:31 Unknown
Called 6/25. Deleted message immediately
without listening to more than three words.
Since I don't "talk" to machines, I would
have hung up if I had bothered to pick up
the phone in the first place.

I recieved a call today from number 1-206-397-1106. I didn't think it was legit so I didn't linger on the phone. They offered grant services, and representative options.
rural resident 2012-06-27 16:17:25 Unknown
Yep - I get this call every few weeks. They leave a voice mail (which I only get the last half of since they start during my voice mail greeting) about government grants.
No doubt they want you to pay for the "privilege" of getting them to get a grant for your business - which you will probably never get anyway. They just get whatever they want you to pay and that's the end of that
I've gotten several phone calls over the years from all kinds of different numbers and area codes and funny thing is - it's always the same voice on the recording.
Yes I am on the DNC list as well, but they'll never get fined or stopped because they change their "spoofed" phone number every time. They know it's against the law, but they've figured a out a way to do it and not get caught by constantly changing numbers.
Jimbo 2012-06-26 17:43:27 Unknown
PS Yes, I know there is a place for telemarketing. Many products are introduced that way. Still, I personally do not want to be solicited via phone. I take in enough advertsing throughout the day... :)
Jimbo 2012-06-26 17:38:41 Unknown
Our phones have the ability for a user to designate a # as blocked right from the handset (panasonic kx-tga652). It has taken a few months, but some of the usual "offenders" no longer call at all. And yes one of them had multiple numbers - they eventually ran out.
laura 2012-06-25 17:06:31 Unknown
robo call, hung up. Caller IS says "service call"
CaP 2012-06-20 21:34:47 Telemarketer
Yep, got the call a while ago for grant money in VT; this time I did pick up, Option 2 did not seem to be a good choice, so hit the Option 1 to speak to a representative. What I got was a bunch of something, then a message to leave a message for them to call back; my message was a FRANK, swearing yes, threatening, don't call me again as on DNC & have not ever dealt with them before. They have not called in a few months since the last episodes; see how long it takes to violate again! Anybody in business who needs government grants or loans can deal with the government direct or their local lending bank who you know & they know you. As always, nothing is free & do not fall for the scammers pleas. Folks, keep posting, keep reporting; one day maybe, but probably not, this d****eads will go away!

Recorded meesage about grants available in Virginia....waste of time.

A message left on my answering machine said that this was for a business grant. I am a 72 year old retired person with no business. I am on the do not call registry and get calls like this all the time. Is there any way to stop this type of calls short of changing my phone nunmber?
last man standing 2012-05-24 17:18:38 Unknown
all of us has to accept that this will be the norm for years to come....so they call, and call, and call...they don't talk, you don't talk...someone is paying for the call and its not us.....
Just enjoy the day and don't let little things like this get you upset...
Randall 2012-05-04 17:39:02 Telemarketer
Called me today about receiving govt grants. Asked for my business details including phone number, then explained their fee scale. After I said I wasn't sure if I could afford it, they hung up on me and never even called me back. No legit business gets your personal information then hangs up. Beware!
George 2012-04-30 21:06:39 Unknown
There was a prerecorded message with very little information about a grant. No mention of who gives the grand, how much it is, or what are the requirements for getting it. This looks like a criminal scam to get your information. I suspect that after they get your information, they say that you do not qualify.
Faith 2012-04-26 17:39:35 Telemarketer
The Do Not Call registry is useless. I've been on it since its inception and renewed it for another 5 years last year. Still, I get at least a dozen telemarketing calls a day. I have reported every telemarketer who calls me to the FCC. I don't know what else to do. Blocking their calls doesn't work because they call from a different number. They are so terribly disruptive. I run my business from home and I just can't take the interruptions, yet I have to answer the phone as it might be a legitimate client. Sorry I have no other suggestions but thank you for letting me vent!
