Got the same call from that number. I didn't answer it, as I didn't recognize it.  I suspected it was another of these scammer companies, solicitors that just want to steal your money..don't ever answer the phone when you see a ph number you don't recognize...

This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc., which is run by Paul Maduno and Luis Martinez.  They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Please take a moment to report this call via an online complaint to regulators.

I have one of those Jitterbug phones that I rarely use - maybe twice a month. This morning, I got "hit" for the first time on this phone by "Heather". Of course, I have this number on the do-not-call list. I am reporting it but do not know if I will ever be rid of "her".

Notice how CallerID4u.com doesn't give you any solid information and absolves themselves of any wrongdoing and only offer to open a complaint ticket and won't give you the name of the company that keeps disregarding the FTC, FCC and other laws?  Because that is just a breadcrumb that led me down the trail of other businesses that offer services that try to be legit, but use this one service as their bread and butter.  Other companies are Teldenort, which is affiliated with the real company called Slappey.net out of Birmingham.  Here is their number:  205-970-4240.  The COO is David Bailey. call him get his secretary to see if she will give you the name of their attorney.  the other company, Teldenort's COO is supposedly Michael Rodriguez.  This is what happens when people like these take advantage of the system, find loopholes and exploit them.  They cannot make money like the rest of us

got a call-  answer machine picked up-(I'd left message on machine saying ;if your a telemarker please stop calling)    message was left that I'd better "f@($*%$*"  answer or else.
They called back shortly thereafter left me another message telling me they could call anytime they wanted any day-  and laughed about the do not call list.

If you want information on this scam and the people behind it I recommend checking out this website:
 http://onthespotblog.com/the-hunt-for-rachel-at-cardholder-services/

The players we know that are now involved, including names and cities are:
Ambrosia Web Design LLC, Chris Ambrosia, Mesa, Arizona
American Debt Negotiators, Ran David Barnea, Boca Raton, Florida
Associated Accounting Specialists Inc., William R. Page, Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Castle Rock Capital Management, Roy M. Cox, Laguna Niguel, California
Concord Financial Advisors LLC, Lee Cestine, Mesa, Arizona
Financial Services Solutions LLC, CEO Unknown, New York, New York
PHL International, Mark Burton, Deerfield Beach, Florida
Premiere Debt Solutions, CEO Unknown, Orlando, Florida
Red Leaf Capital LLC, Leroy Castine, Mesa, Arizona

I have received more than 150 (I have them documented) calls from these criminals. I have filed more that 50 complaints with the FTC however due to the fact that they hide behind spoofed numbers I doubt that they will ever stop any of them. They ask for up front fees and charge your credit card without performing any services.

It isn't necessarily a case of someone selling your number, often spammer/scammers will use robot callers that pick an area code then dial numbers in that area code numerically, one after the other.  They'll call (555) 123-4567, then (555) 123-4568, etc.  If you pick up, they'll then have your number down as a live number with a person who (foolishly) picks up when someone they don't know calls and they'll sell your number to other criminals.

My darling husband picked up a number that I told him I'd been avoiding picking up (due to having read about it on this site) and engaged in some witty repartee with the idiot on the other end of the line, and patted himself on the back for how funny he was making the other guy look like a fool, but I told him he just opened the floodgates.  Within a week, we were getting various spam and scam calls every hour.  Fortunately we moved a month later, so we had to get a whole new phone number, but constant rining really irritating for that month.

Got one single call on my cell phone from this number, which is odd because I get a ton of spam and scam calls on my cell and they usually call a lot of times before they stop calling and go away.  The phone did not ring, it went straight to voicemail but no message was left.  I don't identify myself personally on my voicemail message, I just use the robot voice the phone comes with that reads off my phone number then goes to voicemail.  I've noticed that these spam numbers never ring on the cell, they just go straight to vmail and I have to wonder why that happens!  Real calls ring just fine!

Called on 5/12/2012 at 12:30pm.    Caller ID showed "customer Svc."  They left the same old recording about lowering my interest rate "to as little as 6.9%" and that I'm only eleigible for a "limited time."     I've only had a limited time to respond for a couple of years now.  Same c%&p, different number and totally illegal.   (Yeah, I'm on the DNC.)   I know the FTC has been  investigating these characters for years (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt178.shtm,)  but their call centers being in India seems to frustrate any  attempt at stopping them.    MY solution: call block the entire 206 area code.

I have also been getting calls.  One from a 206 number & several fron a 949-800-7698, which is a payday loan scam out of the US, yet they use a US number.  I had one from A small island in Washington State, & 3 from Irvine CA.  I have notified the police departments about these calls.  I was also told to tell the caller to say go for it, I am taping this conversation.

I recieved a call from a male with a middle eastern accent asking to verify my visa creditcard.  He said that I was $3,000 in debt and he could help consolidate my debt.  I told him that he had the wrong number and hung up.  About an hour later around noon, the same guy calls back insisting that I provide him with the expiration date of my credit card.  When he finished his argument I asked if he would please take me off of his calling list.  He became upset and asked me, "why are you so blind"! And then hung up on me.  Very unprofessional :/

Couldn't help but notice you registered your domain name through "www.domainsbyproxy.com,"  a "private registration" service that advertises how it can keep your  website registration contact information secret.   Every crook in America running an internet scam uses domainsbyproxy to mask their identities.    The fact that the homepage for domainsbyproxy.com has a huge button for law enforcement on the front page to facilitate subpoenas and search warrants should give you a hint as to what they are all about.

Don't fall for it.   They work for the telemarketers.   They're in the "complaince business," helping telemarketers avoid complaints to government agencies for DNC list violations by essentially offering a bogus "opt out" service.   IF they were legit why are their clients calling people on the DNC,  in the tens of thousands,  in the first place?   They have been at the heart of the "reduce your credit card rate" scam for some time and NOBODY ever got off that list by "opting out."    If credit rate scammers call you in violation of the DNC, don't waste your time calling callerid4u, call the FTC and file a complaint.

The number on the phone said "Customer Service" and it was a Seattle number. I was expecting a call from Amazon.com, so I figured it was them and I picked up.  Scammed again!  New number but same old ploy: "This is Heather from credit card services...."  We've never done business with this outfit, we are on the Do Not Call List (DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CALLING ME EVER ! list) and yet they keep right on calling. I report them every time.

I think we need to get a class action lawsuit against these morons. The DNC list does not work.

I have a prepay phone from Tracfone. I have used the same number I have had for years. I bought more minutes for my phone Sunday morning and my phone has been ringging off the hook ever since. Tracfone must have gave my # out to telemarkerters as a way for me to use my minutes up and buy more! That sucks!

This is the 3rd phone call I've received. Today the caller identified themselves as "Heather" letting me know I could reduce my credit card interest rate. I needed to press "1". This is the 3rd time I've pressed "1" and let the person on the other end of the phone line know I wanted the number they called to be removed from their data base. Evidently it isn't and hasn't been removed.
I believe the call came from Credit Card Services

Do these people ever think 'this number never answers and they are wasting their time, then drop the number? '
That was call number 1. I am going to log the calls and see how persistant they are!
