This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc., which is run by Paul Maduno and Luis Martinez.  They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

You guys this is the outgoing number for Google voice.  They lease a huge block of numbers from available area codes for outgoing calls when you dial direct from google voice and don't have a forwarding phone. They are manipulating the caller I'd.

Just received this as well on my work phone. These ip phones have a direct line but I do not give it out I just route them through the front desk. I almost think this is a call sniffer. The system keeps calling random numbers and if someone answers they add the number to a list that probably gets sold to other companies.

Received a call from this number today, just now. No message left.

I get this call very often!

My ex-wife called my iPhone from the future, last summer.  It was more disturbing than usual, after I checked the date.  And I some some photos of my Mom, last summer, and they are now on my flash drive, dated, February 3, 2013.  Good to know she will still be among the living.

Don't you mean IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER don't answer the call!

Orherwise, what if it's someone you know like family, neighbor, friend, relative, your fellow employee or employer? Orherwise, why have a phone at all?

There are things you can do (at your end anyway) to prevent all these scam calls from ringing your phone incessantly! Services like Google Voice, call management devices like Digitone that can block by area code and has both a blacklist (that will stop these type of calls) and also whitelists that will allow those you want to hear from to get through!

Why answer your phone at all?  

If you don't recognize the number don't answer.  If they know who you are they'll leave a message.  Don't get upset because you answered an unknown number.  I live in Toronto, Canada.  The first thing I thought when I saw the number is "Who the hell is calling me from Seattle?  - probably some telemarketer

Washington (Seattle) As I understand it, the phone company that has this number sells blocks of numbers to people over seas and here in America... I have gotten extortion/death threats via E-mail, and have forwarded information from this phone company to the local police department in Washington. (Obviously fake.. I could dig up the letter some time numerous misspellings and poor grasp of English) Anyway ... there is not much the phone company can do.. you can report it , as the phone number being used for fraudulent activities I guess. Go to the "Caller ID" column and click on the name displayed ... that gets you a list of numbers (on some of these a Hell of a lot of them) used by these rejects!

If you have the ability (and either use Google Voice or a call management device like digitone) to block especially unlimited numbers, than this can prove to be a help too ;)

And, oh yea, this can be used for all the other scam calls we get too... just enter the number and do the same as with this one!!! :)

Then there is indeed a VERY special place in Hell for them! If they'll take them!
