I am in Calgary, Alberta up here in Canada. Why I receive calls such as these originating from Wash. State (Seattle I believe) always  baffles me. If you answer but do not speak, it will disengage after about 10-15 sec's as it is prompted to initiate via voice command. My biggest concern is how companies obtain your number. Obviously through telemarketing lists that are created through various means such as online purchases, retail outlets that record (often ask for...) your personal info at time of purchase, Paypal/visa/mastercard and so on.
Very annoying and as my wife works nights and sleeps through the day, very invasive on our private life.

Identified herself as Nadia from "Credit Card Services"  There have been dozens and dozens of different numbers from all over the US over the past two months and most of the numbers are spoofed.  It is a known fraud.

I'm in Victoria, BC and the call was from Washington State.  Something about credit cards.

Got the first call....and I'm sure it won't be the last.  I'm not sure why Seattle would be calling Toronto....

Calls but never leaves a message.  Why call \Mississauga Ontario from the States,  Cannot figure out what they would scam us for.

Received a call this afternoon at 2:30pm ... I waited to speak to a "real person". When they came on the line, they asked if I pushed 1 to lower my interest rates. I asked them from where they got my number. She repeated her question to me ... I again asked where she got my number and why is she calling me when I am on a Do Not Call List. She told me that I don't listen very well ... I told her to take my number off of their call list and she said NO ... and then hung up on me!!! I'm reporting them to the Canadian & US Gov't Do Not Call Websites.

They call to tell you about non existant credit cards and prompt you to push # 1 or # 2 to connect to a human person.

Am in Toronto - number came up as 'long distance" on my call display. No msg. After reading these posts have blocked the number - my phone will let me do that without having to subscribe to the phone company pay service. As an FYI tried to place my phone numbers on the U.S. do not call list - but it will not accept Canadian area codes.

Got a call and no voice on the other end. Then after be very beligerant, rude and obnoxious, they spoke to me. I was told to go find a dark lonely place normally accessible by mice only. I then asked if the guy meant someones a***ole. He said "sure, if that works for you". Well, let me tell you it doesn't except on the weekends.. Buoaaaaaahahahaha

Why do we care who called-LD number, just don't answer it-if they are legit they will leave a VM. The ones that don't are thieves, fraud artists, from Nigeria.. you get the point

I call 206-397-1543  and i get nothing they called my cellphone number i guess i am going to have to put my cellphone on a do not call list as this is a very annoying thing as every time these people call it is a roaming charge whether i answer it or not!

Called to offer me lower interest rates on my CC.  Horrible grasp of the english language.  Zero skills.  Clearly these are people who are unable to contribute to society in any way.  I asked the guy to go to a wedding with me this weekend.  He hung up.

"People or companies should not be allowed to just call your home to see if they can get you to agree to doing business with them. They do not know what you are doing at that time and anytime you do not call THEM it is inconvenient for YOU. These companies can send you a letter....and should. This is supposed to be against the law for someone to harrass you by phone."

LOL!  Get a grip.  If you don't want people to call you, get rid of your phone.  If people call you when you are busy, don't answer.  The truth is, you LOVE it.  It gives you something to bi*** about, which is likely a large part of your reason for living.

Wanted to lower credit card debt.  We are in Canada, please do not call again, it is interrupting our privacy.

After their automated message finished, a person came on the line.  When I said that I was on the do not call list, they hung up. The number doesn't work if you try to call them back.

Credit Card company pitch... this is regarding your credit card, it is very important that you speak with us.

I keep getting calls on my fax machine from this number.  Looks like they'd remove it from their list when they hear the screeching of my fax machine!  
Sounds like a really well put together company.....ya think???
