Yesterday I got a message from this phone #.

I put an item on craigslist and got some emails back from CARSONS CLAY (AGBAsale123@gmail.com) I found it quiet odd that he didn't ask any questions that he just wanted to see it... but when i asked where he was etc he didn't answer back. He told me he was sending a check and then I should take money out to give to the movers? He also asked me to remove the item off craigslist. I don't understand why anyone would do this. Was he going to send me a check and it wouldn't be real? so confused.. Here are his emails, let me know what you think. I put the item back up on craigslist..I know I should have gone with my gut feeling, his wording was very off...

Guy named Ezekiel Damsey (email: edamsey00@gmail.com) wanted to buy my mountain bike from Craigs List.  Very odd story about  him not being able to come by but wanted my home info to send the certified check. Correspondence was in broken English.  Nice to know that others have encountered the same odd scenario.

I got a similar email today.  It said:

Hello Friend , kindly get back to me urgently  , if  your temporary

I too decided to "google" this hobo's name, and this was the first page to pop up.

Unfortunately, I have JUST sent this person the info they have asked for, which of course is the "name", "full physical address" and "cellular phone number".

But now I do have a complete idea of what to act up on this issue.

Either ignore the check, contact my banker, or my local police station, perhaps?

Although I doubt there's enough info to lead up to whome this person might be.

Could be an internet bot setup by a fraudulant company.  Or who knows...?

WHatever happened with this?  I got an email recently, and new it was fraud.  however this happened to us before and we were actually contacted by someone about fraudulant activity.  The post office i think, and they said if we had cashed the check, our bank accounts would have been on hold until the matter was resolved to prove we had no parts in a scam our selves.  Thank god it was intercepted.

i got the same message trying to sell a car in NC. i looked up the area code for the number and its from washington state. the original e-mail i got from this "carrick boston" was 08cb44410@gmail.com and got an e-mail response back from the cb4446@gmail.com account. the e-mails didnt add up so i searched the second e-mail and found this page.

I get the same exact wording in his response to my ad. I'm so glad I googled his name and found this site before I responded.

For those that don't realize this isn't 1 guy hehheeh He would be the busiest manin nigeria if it was. This same scam happens on ALL craigslists no matter where and there are too many for 1 person to manage. This is semi-organized criminals from nigeria.

The best thing to do is what I do now. Give them your local fbi field offices address with the special agent in charge of that offices' name.

Go here and find your local office http://www.fbi.gov/contact/fo/focities.htm#s click the link for it to go to their website and get the agent in charges name and the offices address.

When you respond to the scammer act like all is well and you are falling for it and want the money sent to you at your workplace. Just leave the words fbi out of the address of course.

Let them send the fake checks right to the feds!

Beware of this, it is a scam!

This is the third scam in the past month that I've recieved.  I just got one from ezekiel damsey just a few minutes ago andI could tell right away that it was a Nigerian Scam.  The one before this was a really good one.  I recieved a email from Pay pal saying that the money has been sent but could not be put into my account until I sent a transaction ID showing that I mailed the package.  It looked really legit but I called Pay pal and to make sure and found out it was a fake.  I wish there was a way to catch these guys.

I received a reply back from this email about a gift card I was trying to sell on craigslist, but have not responded yet.  If anyone is trying to investigate please call me and I will cooperate and hopefully stop this from happening.  Call me at 571-330-3876.

He's still at work.  Using same emails and same message. It sounded fishy to me so I googled his name and found this page.  I copied and pasted the URL into a message back to him to let him know he is famous.  Craig's List is very specific about their warnings about scams and frauds...glad I paid attention.
