Be careful if they tell you that your rates will increase after your current promotion expires. They told me that my current promotion (29.99 comcast internet.. I forget which) would jump up to $70 when my promo expired.. He offered me that same $55 deal people are talking about. Well I didn't do it and my bill jumped to 45 per month, not 70.

This number just called me (it's 8:45 PM) I answered but did not say anything(because a different telemarketer called about 30 min ago), she said hello twice and when I did not respond the second time she said "I know you're there, I'll call you back in an hour" and hung up. Are you kidding me???

I received a call from this number offering me a promotional upgrade to my Comcast service.  In my case, it was a favorable offer since my promotional rate was expiring.  After the call, I contacted Comcast through chat support, and they confirmed that the call was indeed from them and the service was pending as described.

I missed a call on my cell from this number.  they left no message but I, like all you who reported this felt it was not a "safe" number to answer.

I got this call, and like many of you I gave them my info, including last 4 digit of my ssn. But then, after that, I didn't receive any updates and email from them so I talked to comcast. They said it's a scam. People, be aware of it.

They called me today - so I have written this to Comcast:

I received what I believe to be a scam call from someone who posed as a Comcast employee offering a ?too good to be true? deal to me.  The phone number that came up when I was called was:  855-551-7533.  The ?representative? offered me the ?blast plus? for 53 or 54.99.  She knew how much I was paying and stated that it would include my modem and was good for a year.

I asked her to phone me back at a better time - tomorrow at 11am pst.  When we hung up I googled the 855 number and this is what came up: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-855-551-7533  and,   http://www.whocalled.info/phone/1-855-551-7533

She mistakenly re-called me thinking I was the next person on the list and I was very upset and told her to never call me again and that I googled their number and found out they were a scam.  At that point she hung up on me.

What was disturbing to me is that she knew how much I was paying a month, and, knew my address and clearly, my phone number.  How horrible.  She asked me to confirm my social security number - which I know enough never to do.

So Hopefully - something gets done here.  I?m very rattled that my information has been compromised and I hope this is not another Target situation where Comcast is not doing anything and keeping it hush hush from the media.

I hope to hear back from you soon.

Got a call from this number and when I picked up no one spoke.  I called the number right back to see who was bothering me and it turns out it's a Comcast promotional offer line.

I got a call from this guys and they did ask me to verify some basic information but nothing more, got my address, phone number and last four which if they would have gone for my full SSN or my DOB i would have hung up on them because they are not supposed to ask this questions, right? Also, they did not ask for a credit card number or anything else, I asked for the girls name and the only thing that when I asked for a confirmation number they said that It would be sent to me to my e-mail, It was weird they asked me for an e-mail since they work for Comcast they could have sent it to me there right? besides that nothing else fishy. They offered me a package for 12 months for double the speed I have PLUS channels and HBO. So I agree with the other post that this guys are after the internet only customers. Another thing, when I asked them how much I currently paid for my service they were able to tell me this and to me it sounded good since my bill is going to be a few dollars less with channels.
Anything else I will let you know guys. Also free kit if it is self installation or 35 dls if a technician comes. The girl spoke perfect english and the guy that helped me did as well, so as for Cambodia.. I don't think english is the first language so far, it is sounding as a good promotion.

I will verify what Willy just said.  I have basic internet only with Comcast, and this company called me to upgrade the package to both faster internet & 50 channels of digital cable for $54.99 + taxes (includes free HBO for 24 months).  They are sending in the mail a self-installation kit (free), and once I hook it up to my TV, I just call the 800# on the package to activate my cable service.  The kicker for me is that there is no contract, and I can cancel at ANY time if I find something better.  I was looking at Astound in my area, but this will be cheaper (for now).

I didn't answer the call, as I didn't know who it was. called it back.

it is TLK Group for Comcast, upselling the services you have. chances are, if you're like me, you have only internet and this is an attempt to get you into a contract of some sort or longer term with Comcast.

geeez, I guess when you buy time warner, you just want more $ to line the pockets a little thicker.

Here's the follow-up on my last post. I got this call from the same people who said I was eligible for an upgrade through Comcast which was $54.99 which was the Blast package. They said I would get upgraded from 25mps to 50mps and 50 channels for the $54.99. I am paying $49.99 right now. The first guy asked me if I wanted this deal so I said yes, he had me confirm my first and last name, street address and last 4 of the social and nothing else. He then transferred me to another guy who said they are going to send the self-installation kit for my cable. I hung up for a second time because I was a little scared so I called Comcast asap. I spoke to a representative right away and he said my order had been placed less than ten minutes ago so I was relieved to find out that this was real. I came to find out that these guys are third party vendors who earn commission by selling these packages, but not hired directly by Comcast. One of the companies I came across that sells these packages is ACN and this is the direct link, and apparently they're all over the world: https://www.myacn.com/internet/index.html

From what it looks like, they sell all kinds of services from Internet to Phone to some other crap I don't know about. That's all I have for you =)

I just received a call from these guys as well. They sounded like African/ American guys but didn't speak professionally and stuttered a lot when speaking. I verified my name, street address and last 4 of my social but nothing else. I am now talking to a chat agent through Comcast.com and she is verifying this phone number. I'm thinking I might have been trying to get scammed and might have already given them too much information.

I don't believe that Queenie is correct.  They knew my address, how much I pay monthly and what package I am currently on.  They did NOT ask me for a credit card, knew half of the information and did ask me to verify some basic information.  This is Comcast Cable and I WILL come back here to post if I am wrong.
