i've asked to be removed... they are STILL calling me

A Marketing Resources. Soliciting for the Seattle Times. They call 4-5 times per day. Heidi in customer relations sent me to "Joe" to stop calls. "Joe" said it's because the Times bills in advance and I'm late. Guess "Joe" doesn't realize it's illegal. Oh, and by the way, do they pay the delivery folk in advance? Nope! Cancelled our paper. Sleezy.

RELENTLESS! The number called five times in three minutes, no message...I blocked the number.

Every day I receive 4 solicitation calls from The Seattle Times, even though I am a full subscriber. There has never been a message left on my voice mail. I complained, and was told that my number will appear on its do not call list. The calls persist.
Pugetlander 2013-01-03 00:15:47 Unknown
It's a company that calls on behalf of the Seattle Times. Something like A Marketing? That was the number I was given to call because my payment for a special deal purportedly didn't go through. When I called no one answered and I just had to leave a message. It seems it's like a collection agency.
Call, leave them a message with your number, say you don't ever want the paper and to put you on their Do Not Call List. If you've done business with something affiliated you could still get calls even if you're on the official DNC list.

These guys aren't bill collectors, they are customer service people who actually speak English! called the number back and they put my paper on hold while I went out of town, without having to wait on hold or go through voice prompts. Plus they gave me a discount by paying ahead! ( turns out i was 60 days overdue) oops!
J moler 2011-12-24 03:15:14 Unknown
Me too! Except when I called them back, I was happy to talk to customer service reps in the United States' not somewhere in Asia. They are 100% legit, and even gave me a discount by paying ahead!!

I have never had or inquired about a subscription to the Seattle Times - I just moved to Washington from TEXAS. This number calls me frequently but leaves no messages. I am on the DNC registry but they call me anyway.

I got a fast-talking a-hole on the phone looking for someone named "Karen." He was talking so fast, I thought I might've misheard him, and when I asked him to repeat himself, he simply said, in his super-fast-talkin' way, "Ms. Rider."
I told him he had the wrong number and I hung up. But ew, this guy's voice made the hairs on my back stand up. He never did identify who he was or what organization he was calling from. Super creepy.

I have never had the seattle times. They did mention that they were calling on the times behalf. The call was to confirm my address so they could send an advertising piece with coupons or something. They are churning thru numbers with an auto dialer. took like 10 seconds to have someone answer on their end.
marty 2011-11-04 22:42:45 Unknown
their auto dialer took a while to detect me. Said it was the seattle times. they just wanted to confirm my address for some advertising piece. So they knew my phone, address and name. weird.
Allie 2011-11-04 22:05:44 Unknown
This number calles atleast 3 times a day and leaves no message.

also getting calls, leave no message, also on my cell phone. I cancelled with them YEARS ago. RUDE!

As soon as I was able to stop the caller's rambling and explain I was out of state, they said straight up that they would remove me from the list. We'll see if she actually does....
Anonymous 2011-11-01 18:59:59 Unknown
Got a call from this number on my cell. It was the Seattle Times rambling on about some kind of special promotion they were going to be doing in my area. Well, my area is Los Angeles and it has been for 2 years. I think they just generate random 206 area code numbers and call. I never had a subscription to the Times before moving out of state and this call was totally out of the blue.

I keep getting calls from this number - they don't leave a message. It's annoying - I'm on the DNC list too, but I suppose it doesn't matter to some marketers.
doggone 2011-10-22 01:40:14 Unknown
Why is Seattle Times of 206-652-6022 calling me? I'm not a Seattle Times subscriber nor have I ever attended a Mariner's game, so why are they calling my number and HOW did they get my number? I feel like the only solution is to disconnect my landline phone.
rdans 2011-10-21 01:45:05 Unknown
I don't have a subscription. I won't buy one. I can beat your 93% savings by not buying a paper at all.
I don't want a sales person invading my personal time & costing me money by calling my cell phone. If I were interested in subscribing, I would have called the Seattle Times and subscribed.

I have received four calls in the last three days. No messages left, but on Monday at 7:07 I received a call and they said from Seattle Times and wanted credit card to renew auto pay. I was not near credit card I said I would call back. Knowing better than to give credit card and other info to a cold caller and sensing this was fishy, the next day I looked up the real Seattle Times number and called them.
They have called today (Jan 5) again at 6:26 am so I looked them up and now I hope they get busted!
kmk 2011-06-06 20:42:17 Unknown
I have never had the Times, nor have I ever given them my cell number yet they have called me almost 40 times over the course of 2 weeks. No messages every left and I even reported the number to the DNC registry since I have been on there as long as I have had the phone number.
I do not give my cell phone number to anyone for any personal contacts. I have a stand alone spam voicemail box that gets all those messages.
Pallavi Raut 2011-06-06 20:42:17 Unknown
I've been getting calls from this number for a week now. It's irritating, no one speaks on the other line and no messages are left.
joe 2011-06-06 20:42:17 Unknown
just canceled newspaper too and am getting calls from this number. plan on ignoring them and letting them go out of business
