I have this guy claiming to be Larry Moore, he is requesting my address, and a contact number. He is using the email blossom39k@gmail.com
Is this guy for real, or is it a scam?

Same thing with this Larry Moore guy. The scam works like this, you recieve a check he sends for the property . You deposit the check and spend the money , the check then bounces and you owe the bank the amount of the check and if you send him the item your out the item. The check will come back insufficient funds!

I received the same message as well, also from Larry Moore. I responded to him that the item was still available. The reply I received, however, came from a Tommy Richards. I told him that I only accept cash and deal in person, and that it was odd that his name changed and I didn't hear back.

Same thing, sent me an email wanting to send me a check to purchase an item I posted on craigslist. I looked up his email address after I noticed he was messaging me from different email accounts. Looks like he commented on youtube video to purchase some email address collection software designed for botting craigslist and now he's running an interesting little twist on the "secret shopper" scam.

Yeah, cash only, k thnx

I am selling a Laptop, got a call from Martins Humphrey asking about condition / available .. etc.
I gave him the details and he said he was interested (Not even wanting to see the laptop - First Red Flag)
I went along and gave my account for the EFT, got a notification from ABSA on my phone from the ABSA number as well as email PDF notification of EFT ... and got a call from Martins to ask if I received payment .. Said yes, .. but would like it to reflect in my account first (PLEASE ... ALWAYS DO THIS) later that night I got another call to ask if I had checked my bank ... I had and the payment was marked as "Movements Due" .. again I said I need to wait for this to reflect as PAID and AVAILABLE ..  once the banking system had updated, the deposit reflected as a cheque. .. so .. I still have my laptop, martinshumphrey1@gmail.com is a scam artist .. look for any variation to the name martinshumphrey
martinhumphrey, martins_humphrey .. And .. NEVER LET GOODS GO UNTIL THE FUNDS PAID SAY "AVAILABLE" ...

I just received the same email from this joker responding to an ad I placed on Craigslist. He used the name Larry Moore with the email larrymoore5990@gmail.com. Why he continues to use this same name in all of these scams is beyond me, but I'm thankful he's so stupid/lazy as it allowed me to confirm my suspicions here that this guy is a fraud.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to post their story about him here!

I'm selling an item online and Larry Moore responded via e-mail stating that he wants to buy it, sight unseen, and asked me to remove my ad so no one else buys it.  He wants my name, address and phone number so he can send me a check via UPS, even though I state I accept cash ONLY.  He also states that he is not available to pick up the item due to the nature of his job so he has engaged the services of a mover.  He also states he's hearing impaired and that I should call 206-666-5255; I did not call him, however.  I'm wondering how he got my e-mail address as this online selling service states that my e-mail address will not be made public.  I'm going to put a block on my e-mail account from this person.  It sounds like a scam to me.

I had the same situation from Meg same phone number and email address.  She says she is mailing me a  certified check and then I am the wire the extra 900 to the movers.  I refuse to do any such thing unless I have a full funding notification from my bank on the check.  This can take over a week so we shall see if the check ever arrives or if it funds.

Same 'deaf' story.  Goes by Leonard Riggs. Not available for the pick up due to the nature of his job.  He has 'engaged the services of a mover'. Please give him the details of 1. name to be on check, 2. Home address, 3. Telephone.  And to please delete my posting as he is totally committed to buying from me.

206.666.5255 is the phone number he provides.

Thanks to seeing these postings...I'll be making no such call.

Ha ha!  I got a very similar email from good ol' Meg about my craigslist posting.  I had a feeling it was BS when her first email asked for more pictures.  I included 3 very clear pictures from different angles IN the ad and its a simple gold ring for crying out loud!  Also at the bottom of the email it read:

Same deaf story, only from Martins Humphrey@gmail.com.  But I did not know of this site and of 800Notes before I had called him twice and emailed him.  I have not heard from him since, and hope I do not have to deal with these scammers again.  Same phone number.  I will relist my item.

I received an offer to buy an item I have on Craigslist from this "Larry "Moore" character, addressed from tolozolo300@gmail.com.  Second email started in with the deaf thing, the job thing, sending a check and "movers" coming to pick up the item.

I Googled his email address and found this and other sites recounting his attempts to scam people.

What actually made me suspicious at the outset was the thing about being deaf, since my item on Craigslist is a guitar.

Hello,
How was your day? I will like to inform you that i contacted my bank to confirm if your payment has been mailed out.Instead of the actual amount for the cost of the 6 hp merc, the bank made out check for $2,500.The payment was already posted before I was informed about this but is a little problem which we can handle with care.I wouldn't want this to delay the sale, as I have rectify this with my Bank.Am only asking you if i can trust you with the excess fund.if you will be able to send it back, because i already plan on using the excess money as payment to my mover to offset the cost of the previous shipments she has undertaken on my behalf.Hope am not asking too much from you.Regards

Hello
How was your day? I'll like to inform you that I contacted my bank to
confirm if your payment has been mailed out, I was made to understand
that instead of the actual amount $500 for the guitar , the bank made
out
a check for $2500. The payment was already been posted before I was
informed about this but is a little problem which we can handle
amicably. However, I have rectified this with my Bank cause I wouldn't
want this to delay the sales, all you have to do is that, once you
have the payment, do take it to your Bank and have it cashed and
you'll then deduct the money for your goods and in addition a $100 (
which is the cost of your running around).

The excess fund on the payment will then be wired to my mover via
western union that same day, so that my mover can come for pick up as
I've already planned on using the excess fund to offset the payment of
the previous shipments that has been undertaken on my behalf. Do let
me know if I can trust you to have the excess fund sent to my mover.

Thank you.
