I just got a call from Officer John Peterson.  He had my full SSN, DL # and address.  Stated he was with the Washington police dept and I was being sued.  I told him I was not the person he was looking for over and over and he told me to F*** off.

THIS OFFICER JOHN PETERSON CALLED MY CELL PHONE THIS MORNING LEAVING A MESSAGE ABOUT MY BF STATING THAT HE WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FRAUD. AND THAT IF HE DID NOT CONTACT THEM IMMEDIATELY HE WOULD BE GOING TO JAIL. THIS IS A JOKE AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO FIND OTHER WAYS TO MAKE SOME MONEY BUT GETTING IT OFF THE PEOPLE OF THE USA IS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT.

This is a scam.  People please don't send any money.  I've been down this road with the same guy before.  He tried to tell me I had take a loan out from some company, and never paid it back.  What they try to do is scare you to the point that you just want to pay whatever money it is, and they will get your money that way.  When I checked in to the so called place they said I borrowed from, that place didn't even give loans to my state!  They had no record of me on any of thier accounts.  So this guy was a scammer.  Please don't give them any money!  I had a call again today from this same number, on the caller ID it showed up 052-797-982.  And I was told to return his call too 206-801-5295.  The guys name was Max Green.  And it was the same voice that had called me the last time.  The first time they called they had me scared because they said if I didn't pay this money by 2:30 that afternoon, they would show up at my work to arrest me.  Fortunately, where I was working had a security officer who was also a cop, and told me that they can not arrest you without first taking it to court.  Then of course, if you do not show up in court, yes they can arrest you.  This is a scam.  In all honesty, if you do not know a number that is calling you, or it does not even have enough digits to be a number, don't answer.  If they continue to call, answer and tell them you know this is a scam and will not fall for anything.  Ask them if you can record the conversation too (even if you aren't going too).  This scares them to the point they know they will get in trouble.  Eventually after you harassing them, they will stop.  Tell them you have local police listening to your call and that you are going to sue them for harassment.  They will stop.  I don't answer anymore when they call.  Don't let it get to you.  Just remember the economy sucks right now, and people are trying to come up with stupid ways to get money.  If this guy tries to tell you that are from some company that you took a loan from, or whatever, tell him to spell the name of the company, and then hang up.  Call that company and see if you even have a record with them, and most likely....  you won't!  They get your numbers from different websites that they hack into.  Be careful who and what you give your social security numbers too.  Thats how this all gets started.  Hope everyone has a nice day, and that these morons leave you alone soon!

"Officer" Tom Peterson called again.  Asked him for name of his dept., Mumbled about fraud and no answer to dept. and address request.  Asked to record the call as the FBI would really like to talk with him/them.  "Officer Tom" then told me to #$@! off and disconnected the call. Nice

Received a call from Officer John Peterson from the Financial Crime Investigation Dept who said I was being sued for not paying back and internet payday loan. I have had one of these loans but not with the company they said was suing me. I called the people I deal with and they said this was a fraudulent company and not to give them any information. But they already new the last 4 digits of my SSN, my bank name, where I worked and said they would call my manager. Also said something about selling off my personal property. Most of the converation I could not understand. I swear the same guy that answered the phone and said "can I help you" also answered and said he was Peterson. It was a very scary phone call and I don't scare easy. I do want to report this to someone but I'm not sure who.

Got a message today from Friday on my work phone from an "Officer" Kevin Smith.  He states that he has turned over my Social Security Number to the authorities for further action.  First of all he could not even get my last name right.  Very HEAVY Indian Accent.  Left his number and told me to call back.  I called back and asked to speak with him.  Another man with a heavy Indian accent said he was in a meeting and he would call me back in 60 minutes.  WTH?  I said you cant tell me what this is in regards too?  There was a lot of chatter in the background.  The man said I am just the receptionist.  This is all crazy.  I am following up with my Uncle that is an Investigator with the local PD.

The number came across my caller ID as "Restricted" and the name they used on me was Officer Dale Daniel. From the background noise, I am certain he was calling fom a call center. If the call back number left on my voice mail was an 800 number, I would have thought "Officer Daniel" was in Bombay.

Same incident occured with us this morning same man he called all 3 of my cell numbers. They will not answer any questions we ask and they claim i owe them money, and they are officers, I just hope they know it is illegal in the US to represent yourself as an officer of the law when you aren't, any more information, would be greatly appreciated. They cursed my husband out because he would not let them talk to me. the call back number they left was 2068015295.

They just started calling me today.  The guy had an AMERICAN name with an Iranian accent.  Said he was with the "Federal Crime Investigation" (whoever that is).  He knew all of my personal info and that's been the scariest part of it all.  But my question is: Has anyone had them actually ruin their credit, take their money, etc.? I guess I'm trying to figure out what to expect next...more calls (do they every stop), ruined credit, what?!

I checked my credit report and nothing has happened.  I also got credit protection so they could not run my credit without me getting notified first.  I also called my bank and notified them and they have alerts all over my account.  It sucks that he has your personal info but I made sure they could not access my credit report or bank account.  You may want to do the same.

I got a call at my work from this officer mike walker. he told me that i owed his business $672 and if i didn't pay it i would go to jail. he kept on calling my work and my cell phone number to the point that he would be the only one that would be able to call my work no one else would be able to call. there were times that he would call my work and talk to me and then hang up and call my cell phone and i wouldn't answer it because i can't answer my phone at work and leave a message telling me that i had to call him back. there was a time that my manager talked to him on the phone and out and out told her that he didn't want my money anymore he wasnted me to get fired from my job.

I dont know who this is- the only "english sounding" part of the messages is the phone number. He claims to be Officer John Peterson and that I will suffer the consequences at home or at my place of work if I do not call him back. I tried calling the number to see if there was a greeting that would tell me who it was, but this scary guy answers and says "what can I do for you".. really creepy! I looked up the number in reverse number directory and found it to be an unlisted number in Seattle, WA. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Just received the same call.  Called four times in a row then finally left a message threatening to have me arrested and if I didn't call back immediately he would call my employer and relatives and tell them I was about to be arrested b/c he said I owed money.  Identified himself as Mike Walker.  When I called back he answered w/ his very thick indian accent "what do you want" and to which I responded that I was recording the call so I could take it to the local authorities because he was a scam artist and they would catch him.  Then...wow, what a surprise, he hung up.  Filed a complaint with the FTC...we need to catch these bastards who prey on the innocent.  I'm tired of it.

Just got a call from "Officer Jack Walker". He stated that federal charges were being brought against me for check fraud and a bunch of other things that I could not understand. He then told me that I had the option before it went to court to pay off the debt. I explained to him that if charges had already been filed that that is not how it worked and that I need to get a lawyer and have my lawyer contact them. He then yelled at me that I better get a good lawyer then hung up on me.

I got the same call at my office, officer "Walker" left a voice message stating that I would be arrested if I did not contact his office right away.  He had a very heavy indian accent, I could barely understand his message.  He had no idea who he was asking for because he kept referring to me as "he" and kept advising whoever was listening to the message to advise me that I was in legal trouble.  Left a return number of 206-801-5295.
