They repeatedly call my work even though they have been told numerous times to stop.

I also received a call without identification of a company.  The name used was "Kemmel King", or something like that.  Very cordial, but no identification.  I added my number to the DNot Call list, but probably have to do it again.

Why would you say you can't block him from work without a court order?  Collection Agency's aren't allowed to call your place of employment if it is not alright for you to receive phone calls there.

Can a debt collector contact me any time or any place?
No. A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they?re told (orally or in writing) that you?re not allowed to get calls there. In fact if you (or anyone) write to them and tells them to stop calling you  and only communicate through mail, or if you right a letter disputing the claim, they cannot legally contact you anymore.  If they do, report them to the Attorney General and the BBB.

What does the debt collector have to tell me about the debt?
Every collector must send you a written ?validation notice? telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don?t think you owe the money.

"Mr.King" keeps calling me too!!  I've blocked him from my cell but can't from work without a court order.  How long did he call you for?

They don't give you the info because they know you won't call back if you know it's a bill collector!  Oh, and they LOVE to use names like Ms. Green, Mr. Gray, Ms. Oak, Mr. Cedar!  LOL

Some one who refers to himself as mr.king keeps callling. I left a message for him to leave a detailed message as to his buisness with me and he has so far refused to do so.

The call is from OCI, a collection agency. The woman who called me repeatedly on both cell and home phone left her name and number but no info as to why she was calling. I ignored it until she called my brother-in-law in another state to track down a proper phone number for me!  That was embarrassing. Have now spoken to her and chastised her for that action, as it is not my intention to share my financial woes with my extended family. I have dealt with her and OCI now and set up a payment plan but am still upset about them contacting my family. Horribly rude.

Called several times and left a voicemail. They do give their name. Same person calling each time. Answered their first call and told them I don't know the person they're trying to contact but they keep calling back. If they bothered to check they'd find out the phone number is not registered to the person they keep calling. Idiots.

What is OIC?

left message on my phone with a name only no reference to who they represent or to the nature of their call. They requested that I call them at said number.  I would never return any call that I didn't recognize, especially if the person never acknowledged who they were affiliated with and to what was the nature of their call.  Anyone who has any professional sense would state "of who or what" they represent along with their name and what the call is in reference to.  Obviously, they don't want to be exposed, knowing
you wouldn't correspond with them in the first place, they cordially  address you by your first name in hopes that you'll graciously return their call, thinking it's on a more personal level.

Who is this?

called me and text me but won't leave any messages - called back w/ restricted number and didn't say anything - lady sounded real pissed off.  Didn't even say what company she was with when you call.
