this came as responce to a add i posted on creggslist on 4/24/2010 these basterds make it hard for peapole to do bisness on the net they need to be stoped /has not given me a name yet i will report but it sounds like the athoratys arnt trying to catch this person !

It's quite obious from all of the spelling and grammatical errors in your reply that you have next to no education. I'm guessing that you're probably too dumb to get a job at your local Taco Bell or wal Mart so you've decided to try your hand at unsuccessful check fraud. Have fun living int he back of your car. i was selling a car on craigslist.  unusual for offer to buy
to come from long distance without sending someone to look at
the car. glad i googled the number.

got a response on a used car from same phone number.  user is sean_ray@yahoo.com this time.  glad i googled the phone number.

i got an email this morning asking if the vechile on craigslist was still for sale i emailed back and he sent the same message kennith brin was his email name

Kennith Brin. Look, the police are pathetic with this. I have a legit fax number for this guy/girl, and a Washington Mutual account that he is trying to get me to direct deposit money into. So this guy/con is easy to find, yet NO ONE will track him/her. the feds don't want it, the LVPD won't touch it...the only good thing, is i'm costing somebody money with overnighting bad checks around the US. but even that is probably being done with a stolen credit card, and FEDEX doesn't care either.

so i'll go on, collecting fake big money checks in names like Harry Sack and Berry McCockinherr. if anyone falls for these scams after the years they have been going on, well...i don't know how you could.

if you send under $4000 via Western Union or Money Gram, kiss your money goodbye. the scammer does not need ID to claim money, which is the DUMBEST policy for these 2 money cash stores to have, making them a friend to the scammers.

I got the same email from this guy, I am so happy i googled his name also the funny thing about it is. I don't think he even googled his own name to know what's going on.

This guy just wrote to me from a different number 206-888-0471 his full of s***!

We got involved with the same guy but he had the nerve to send a check for over $3000 which was 2x the asking price.  Found out the check was written on an account for a high-class boarding school in Florida.  I hope they catch the guy.  He used two women's names, one was the supposed owner of the check and one was the name of the "shipper" we would be working with to ship the item to this "poor disabled person".  I hope the police in your area are able to corner him.  Ours wouldn't touch it nor would the FBI.

Guess they haven't caught "Kennith Brin."  He is trying to by something from me.  Thanks for all the posts and beware!!!

i got the same email as everyone else, the only way to stop these guys is to act like we are going to actually fall for there bogus stuff so you play along in the emails and give them your address or a fake one and let them spend 5 dollars to send a certified check in the mail and just never deposit it, i have about 6 checks laying around with ridiculous names like pancho villa rosa parks martin luther king etc their just fun to have around

i recieved a message from a "deecanon5@hotmail.com"with the typical scam letter and information as above posts.the funny thing is in my post i included my phone number for a contact but no call.the phone number they provided was 1-206-888-4157 i didnt call it but from the first three numbers are a prepay phone number prefix.it is a typical scam email.i just wrote back to tell them i dont have a bank account so i couldnt cash the check and i prefer to talk to someone in person with proper id before i will send anything.

I got the same email about a car I'm selling on Craigslist.  It looked like a scam, and lo and behold, it is.

We wrote back to "Dee Canon" and said we wanted to go ahead with her proposed deal.  She asked for the name and address to send the payment, and I gave her the name and address of our state attorney general (obviously with no job title in the address), and asked if she'd drop me an email once payment was sent so I could "keep an eye out for it."  Surprisingly, this idiot actually sent the payment to the state AG 5 days later!  Now the attorney general will get a certified payment from this idiot, and at least investigate enough to figure out what the payment is for (hopefully discovering the fraudulent nature of the instrument in the process).

Fun, and it only took 15 minutes - a lot less time and trouble than filing a complaint, since this eliminates me as the middleman between the attorney general and our scammer.  Have fun with the AG, "Dee!"

So, I recently encountered this number as well trying to buy a fishing boat. The email used was was clothingpeople@yahoo.com with the same number and generally the same information listed below. Definitely a scam. Do you think it matters that I only realized until awaiting their "check" that I gave them my address and cell phone number? Cannot trust anybody. Thanks for the comments, they helped a great deal.

It sounds fishy from the start--- talking about our used snowplow as tho' it is an actual vehicle - - - - I am glad I googled her phone number!  Even if these people give you a check that looks real and your bank may even cash it . . . once the bank realizes it was a forged check --- guess what?  You are the one who has to pay all the money to the back plus penalties.  BE VERY CAREFUL FOLKS!  DAng!  We need to sell our ole snowplow so we can get one that fits on our newer pickup before it start snowing . . . and that will be soon!
