I just got the same exact email. Word for word. I'm glad I googled the #!!

I had the same thing today, november 6th from "Colleen Dammy". 246-065-6022.   New to craigslist and paypal so i thought id check it out first. Glad i found this site!  Cause im a sucker.  I dont realize theres people out there like that.

You can forward any emails from this guy or any others like them to PayPal directly and they will follow up on them.. spoof@paypal.com

I received the same thing!!! i reported it to Paypal as well!!!!! becruise011@gmail.com was the email colleen dammy was the name. didnt even spell the town in nigeria right..... I noticed the fakeness because the messages they sent from "paypal" about the payment looked totally fake they had "!!!" at the end of the subject and they said that they were holding my payment until i shipped the item!!! what kind of moron do they they we are????  i added them to my list of blocked emails. Its sad that people even try such stupid things!!!!!!!

He answered my add as Colleen Dammy (becruise011@gmail.com) on Craig's List.
Total scam artist.  
I cancelled the invoice on PayPal JUST in time.

Reporting him now.

Got the same message early this morning about a posting on Craig's list.  Just plugged in the phone number and found this site - thanks much.  They are now using the name "Colleen Dammy".  So lame.

I got the message below from the same scammer but now they've changed the name to Steve Greg and the new email address is swaller060@gmail.com. I knew it was fraud because it said it was a pleasure to hear back and I had never emailed the guy before and he asked for paypal which I knew was BS.

I just got the SAME email for an ad I posted on craigslist and gave this guy a few choice words of my own. Glad I googled the # before I fell for his b.s.

I received the exact same email but pertaining to my item for sale. Now he goes by the name of Douglas Jeff email davjay011@gmail.com.

For future reference, pay pal does not protect the seller if you send an item to an unverified address or do not track the item. I'm assuming this guy does not think you know that information and is trying to scam people under the assumption that pay pal is a secure website.

Same guy responded to my post on craigslist. thank goodness for google. i googled his number and found this website.

This guy claims to be David Johnson.  I replied after checking his phone number (because my 'hackle factor' was activated by his verbage in the replies we had between us) and sure enough, I found THIS discussion forum, so I told him to take a hike!

This guy emailed me as David Johnson. Sounding all sweet like how he wants to give this item to his sister. I went to prepare an invoice on pay-pal and before I did I asked for photo ID to prove id, he instantly stopped responding. I was curious so I put the phone number in and this page came up.
I filed a complaint against him I caution any one else to do the same!

As I posted earlier I have gotten involved in 1 of these from an item I listed on Craig's list. I listed the item for $500 and sure enough a check arrived and was for the amount of $2950.00. I called the number listed on the check which was supposed to be a paying service and they verified the check as legitimate. I took it to my bank and they verified the routing number and account number as valid. I deposited the check. All the while the buy (Usmanov Kristen <usmanovkristen.funhomes@yahoo.com) is contacting me saying his assistant messed up and sent the wrong amount. Told me to send the extra monies to

along with the merchandise. I kept getting calls from a relay service that would relay a conversation from buyer to me. I never got to speak directly with buyer. I told him check was returned and monies were removed from my account. Was told to go ahead and forward the extra monies anyhow and he would expidite another check to me with an extra $100. I asked if I could have it sent to another address and he agreed. Told him to send the new check to:

I too got this email for an item I had on Craigs list. The item I was selling for $500. I received a check for $2950.00. The check was from a money gram place. there was no other information included with the check. I took it to my bank and they verified it was a real check and the routing number and account number on it were legitimate. In doing research on this I discovered that the bank will "clear" the funds and put them into your account but that does not mean you are safe. The check can still be cancelled and you will be responsible for giving the funds back to your bank. The emails I got explaining the difference in the amounts were in poor english.

Haha, my name is Michael, too. I received the EXACT same messgage TODAY as well. I thought it might be legit, since they were wanting to use PayPal. So very glad that I went with my GUT and did a search on this number!

I received a email about a engagement ring set that I have listed on Carigs List,  It had the same phone number.  This is the emial I returned to him (his original on bottom, and for an international business man, he dosn't write very well) Do you think I will hear back from him?

Lets cut to the chase, this email is from favjay011@gmail.com , the first email is from David Johnson" <davjay013@gmail.com>, when I Googled your phone number there were many reports under different names with this number, reported for trying to scam people selling things on ebay.  

I'm assuming, they are wrong and you are a real buyer with honest intentions.  This is a CASH ONLY SALE,  your or a represenative can meet me here in Slidell LA (at a local jeweler or the local police station) you can examine the ring set and we can make the deal.  Or you can mail me the CASH and I will mail the ring set to you, I will pay the shipping and insurance.
