Re: MIRYAM STEEP = SCAM, FRAUD!!!

I would recommend to all merchants NEVER to sell to one Miryam Steep!  Our company has been taken for over $5000 in Credit Card Fraud by Miryam Steep.  Miryam placed an order through our company using different credit cards to pay portions of the balance due.  The card numbers were legit and did originally go through, so we sent their order for several cartridges via DHL to London.  Weeks later our bank contacted us that the credit card numbers used were stolen.  After contacting the bank where cards were issued and several law inforcement agencies (i.e. local police dept, FBI, Secret Service, etc...) we are no closer to recovering our losses basically because we weren't taken for a larger sum.
Through some investigative work done ourselves, we have discovered multiple companies who have been hit by this Miryam Steep.  It seems our hands are tied as to locating and persecuting this person.
PLEASE heed this warning if you don't want to fall victim to this scam artist!

PLEASE BE KIND TO RELAY OPERATORS. the way the policy stands, they should process each call as if it were legitimate. you don't have to tell them anything, don't have to educate them of the scam going on. they know, but they will lose their jobs if they dont process the call. just hang up the phone, they are happiest when you do.

i had work as a relay operator for 8 months before i quit. believe me, at least 35 out of 40-odd calls i used to process were scams. how did we know? we could actually see the ip and email address  used by the supposedly deaf relay user and they were the same addresses used over and over again. it's not even rare for 5 or 6 operators who sit next to each other to process a call from the same ip or email address all at the same time. it was sickening. calls from africa buying various merchandise ranging from accucheck blood sugar kits, ngk spark plugs, chicken salad   and barbecue pork from restaurants, puppies, motorola 2 way radios, caterpillar and cummins engine parts, dom perignon and crystal champagne, gold chain jewellery. and another type of call everyone should be aware of: bank fraud. try calling your bank's 800 number. anyone could actually access someone else's account information by just providing the social security number.and through slick manipulation, like placing several calls to the same 800 number simultaneously, using info extracted from one phone      banker to    verify and obtain info from another, the fraudster manages to get vital info like username and password to hack into the online banking account and steal the money. tsk tsk. and my mom was so proud of me for having such a noble job helping the deaf-mute community.

We took the following order and payment with credit cards. The first card was declined, so she e-mailed a few others, saying to only run 1K at a time as they had transaction limit. The total amount was run before we as a distributor ordered it from our vendor.

The next day I had a call from a woman near Chicago that said she was the victim of identity theft and that the bank showed that we had made a purchase using her credit card.  We immediately credited hers as well as the others used.  We did not notify Miryam right away as we wanted to see where DHL was shipping it. This morning she e-mailed UPS labels for the packages and called to see if everything was set.  The labels were for Nigeria, and since it was out of the country we couldn't really notify anyone who could do anything.

We responded to the relay that no it wasn't ready, that it had come to our attention that the credit cards were stolen.  The relay immediately said caller disconnected.

I called UPS fraud, and forwarded the UPS labels to them incase they were paying with stolen credit cards or stolen UPS numbers.

We had a call from the this relay number, and subsequently were sent an e-mail:

Hello Sir/Madam.

Sequel to the phone conversation, I would like to get a quote on the below item:

This is a Nigerian scam. They use the relay, (402) 694-3656 (hamiltonrelay.com), to make people think they are disabled, plus it hides their actuall phone number and accent. Don't fall for this crap. Judging from the number of complaints I have found regarding this exact scheme, I'm beginning to suspect that Hamilton Relay may be culpable to some extent as they cannot be relaying hundreds of calls from these scammers without some knowledge of what is actually taking place.

This di**o tried to order some stuff from me today using jstoreinc@yahoo.com. The IP address was 41.219.210.119, which traces to Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

BUT the e-mail return address did not match the sender:(ddf@fgfggffgfgfggfgg.com.)  He requested a quote for a large quantity of inkjet cartridges, with overnight shipping to an address: 19751 hon ct katy texas,77449.  I've never heard of them, and even though he wanted to know about credit card payment, I am too suspicious to reply.
