Same story here. Eric Wilson (ha-ha) with very broken English called - supposedly from Windows Service Tech. Dept.. Very abrasive and said if I didn't allow him access he would block my computer registry and I would be placed on a blacklist.

I did a reverse lookup on 206-925-3801 and verified this scam.

Unbelievably, he called back again !  I told him to do what he will and hung up on him.

Be very aware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scam call from "Edward" - claimed to be from Windows Service Center and that my PC (I use a Mac but am well versed in pc's) had a virus - I played along...wanted me to go to support.me (Logmein site) - no thanks...

Asked for a manager, he hung up.  Not very good business practice :-)

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

And STAY AWAY FROM systemrescue.org --- may be booby-trapped with malware.

This man state his name is James and that he was from Windos recovery and that I had both spyware and malware on my computer. I told him I was going to do some research and call back. He told me what my P.O. Box number was and my telephone number was; he was almost correct but not fully. He gave me the telephone# of 206-925-3801 but my caller ID showed it as 756-773-3630. He also said I could look their company up by going to systemrescue.org

m rahmati is clearly the one who owns that number. This is a scam people. Person calls and says they're from microsoft and that they found viruses on your computer. Microsoft is legally not allowed to call customers for technically support unless the customer requests it. What these people are installing on your computer is a key logger. If it's installed on your computer DO NOT enter any personal information into ANYTHING.

I'm a computer science student. Normally I wouldn't care about this, but it happened to my grandfather, and when people mess with my family i take it seriously. Thus i'm spreading the word.
