I too rec'd an email with this phone number for a job listing.  I am wary to go the vague website and post my information.

website address is: Taylor Charity Processing Systems (which when googled, nothing comes up).

I would also like any information.

Thanks.

Just wanted to add that I too just got this reply after applying for a job on Craigslist. I googled first, of course, to make sure it was legit before even opening the website. Glad I found this first! Didn't submit any info, but am trying to figure out which ad it was from so I can report it to Craigslist.

Yeah... any time ANY ad, no matter how legit it sounds, asks for you to jump thru a hoop first, IT IS A SCAM! I can promise you. And if they 'can't take you're resume via email for IT reasons' why exactly are they posting an ad ONLINE? lol. there aren't too many legit employers on cl, just so you guys know. i keep getting people trying to scam me.

good luck everyone on your job hunt. i'd try another site for job hunting besides cl.

I just went through the same thing.  I really hope that I didnt just give my SS# out to a scam.  I think I will call the CREDITREPORT.com and cancel asap.

I got the same e-mail and went through the hoops...they asked for my credit score but I didn't give them my ss# because I already knew my score.  After entering my score they had me schedule a day to meet them for my interview at the Lake Elsinore Hotel and Casino.  I just called to see if Taylor Processing Systems booked a meeting room for the day of my choice and they don't even have meeting rooms nor a John Simmons.  This is a Big Scam as they are listed as Taylorcps.com

I applied with the same company and when I googled the phone number I came to this site. During the last month, I have applied for about 25 positions on Craigslist that all came back to me with an e-mail requesting a credit report. I then e-mail back and request a local physical address, phone number, and contact along with the name of the company.  I then tell them that no one in their right mind would submit and PAY for a credit report to any company before the offer of employment.  And, in addition, if I do not receive proof that this is a legitimate posting, that I will report them to Craigslist, the police, and any other appropriate agencies. Sometimes I get an "undeliverable" e-mail back, meaning the e-mail is bogus, as is the job.  Other times, the e-mail goes through and I do not get a response. I finally found a number for Craigslist and called last week and was told that they are aware of all of the scams going on and it wasn't just happening on their job boards.  I was told that they get over 1,000 hits a minute and there is no way to control this even though they know that people's identities are being stolen everyday and that a lot of ads are being posted on Craigslist that are paid for with a stolen credit card. Bottom line is, they get paid anyway and don't really care.  So, my suggestion is that you stop using Craigslist before you get your identity stolen.  It has happened to me before and it is not fun.  I have been out of work for over a year and am desperate to find work, but this is not work, it is a scam. There are so few real jobs and it is time to write out representatives and vote when we have a chance because at least they will hear our voices then.  Anyway, here is the e-mail that I received:

K7.net provides free fax numbers and voicemail systems.  All of their free numbers are based out of WA and all have the 206 prefix (this is only the FREE numbers).  Sounds to me like they set up this answering service to collect info.  The website and e-mail address in the e-mail (yes I got one too!) match up (it's not like ABC company and someone with a gmail address).  They went to a lot of trouble.  Thanks for all the info guys.  It sucks that people looking for work have to put up with bull crap like this.

I'd like to give cl the benefit of doubt, but rcert thing I get from them TBa out to be a scam. I felt odd about this one so I googled, and found your posts. Don't eve give your credit info to any compantl just an easy way for them to steal your identity. I work for a bank, and see it a lot.
Best of luck in the job search, but steer clear of craigslist

Got the exact same email from job posting on same C-List. My red flag was that I tried to respond to the email that I have to pull out of interview due to new surgery date and the email I sent bounced back - twice.  So I made the phone call to the number posted.  Yep, I am an idiot !  Got a voice mail from WCPS????  Googled them and Taylor- nada ! This is the second one this weekend.  Think I better stay away from C-List for a while.  Thanks for this service however.  Stopped me from making a bigger fool of myself than I already feel like I am.

Is anything posted on CraigsList for real? This is obviously another scam. Any time they ask for a credit report...before the interview is bad news. I'm glad I found this site. We would be great as detectives just trying to figure out who is legitimate. Good luck everyone.

I replied to a craigslist posting offering a job. When I got a reply back they gave me a sorry excuse as to why they can't accept resumes directly. Then they directed me to a website to fill out an application.

I'm glad I googled it and found your comments! I won't be following up to this e-mail.

Credit checks are only done after a formal interview, because the company pays for them. In addition, its a federal law that you don't have provide your social security number on a job application.

This number was on one of the emails that I got from a company after I sent them my resume for a job posted on Craigslist. The second man who emailed me was very enthusiastic to "get me on their team", once I gave them my credit score. I understand that it's becoming more common to provide employers with your credit score, but probably not until a personal interview. But, everyone else is right, no Taylor Charity Processing Systems in Google and no Cangles Inc. either.

I too responded to a posting on craigslist and got the e-mail with the website to apply online.  I don't think I'm going to follow up with this one...the website has very little information and I also could not find it when searching for Taylor Charity Processing Systems on Google.  I also looked up the phone number on Whitepages and it came back as a landline based in Seattle, WA but did not have any company information or anything which is also sketchy.  I did not receive a phone call though....

I got an email for a job from www.taylorcps.com with the above phone # and the individual John Simmons. It is a fraud/scam job that directs you to a phising site that tries to extract personal info. Be very careful

I got an email from this Taylor Charity Processing Systems after replying to a job on craigslist. It had this phone number and it directed me to this website to fill out an online application: http://www.taylorcps.com/vacancy/general.html
Once there it asks you to pull your own free credit report and type in the report id number. I was stupid enough to do it. Don't know what the repercussions will be from that...but I'm sure it is a scam after reading a bit more about it.
