They keep calling, Robocalls, Google placement, etc, absolutly hate these guys, call at 8:30pm and later.

"Google+ for business listing" called my employer: after recognizing the robo-call voice, I pressed # a few times before hanging up.

Local Web is the caller ID, just silence.

I've gotten calls from this and several other numbers from the same company. I have talked to many of their people who tell me they will take me off the list and just hang up on me wilt saying anything else. I get calls early early as in 6am and late at in 9 to 10 and once even at 12. Little do they know that I am keeping all their calls on record and waiting for my husband to graduate from law :) this is harassment and my number is on the do not call.

As per a previous posting, if this is a bot searching for live numbers, once I see the number on the caller ID, I hit the speaker button and the mute button. That way, the bot hears nothing. After about 45 seconds it disconnects.

I can't get off their list, if you listen to the lady who claims she's with google (and she's not) she gives you a number to press to opt out but it doesn't work. I have received at least 2 dozen calls from them.

How does one go about breaking this thing? Can this be phreaked somehow so it stops working? Is there a physical office somewhere with a machine (which can be then smashed with blunt objects, and the renters of the property tarred and feathered), or is this all done online somehow now? Why is the phone company not liable for shutting these numbers down?

Automated message. "Hi, this is Jennifer, your Google+ representative..."

Have had a number of calls.  Some of them left the message about the Google listing and we needed to update or some such baloney.    I just listened to the message a few times and figured they weren't going to stop calling.  Actually our number was used by an orthopedic practice up until a couple years ago and we still get wrong numbers.  :-(    So I called the number back today after ANOTHER call and they said to press 1 and they were sorry blah blah blah.   We'll see if they stop or not.
Should be a law about harrassment by phone.

Leaving recordings saying they are Google Plus, clearly a SCAMMER

I've received over a dozen calls from this phone number. At least 6 times I went through the automated service to have my number removed and I've talked to at least 7 or 8 associates about removing my number and it never works. I get about 3 calls a week and it is very frustrating. This is harrassment at this ponit.  If it doesn't stop I will be forced to take further actions. The number is 571-261-4886. PLEASE REMOVE IT FROM UR LIST!!!!

They robo call even if you opt out. Don't press any number. They know its a live number now and they sell your "real" number. What ever happened to the donotcall list? Isn't it inforced?

Listed on caller id as "local web". Keeps calling but won't leave a message! Glad I never answered;-).

Here is a solution to this problems.    Works for us.

There is NO stopping all the telemarketers out there. Here is what is going on.

1. There are phone bots, that all it does is call numbers looking for live phone numbers. If the number answers either with you picking up or your voice mail, then it logs that number and moves on to the next number.

2. With all these 'live numbers' they are then sold to the telemarketers who then with their automatic dialers, will then be calling you etc.

3. If you try to call the number that they are calling you from, then you get no where because they do not want to be bothered as we are with 100 of calls.
So you are either getting the telemarketers or the phone bots calling you.   Getting mad or calling to be taken off their phone list is a waste of time.

SO OUR SOLUTION, as we are in an office, is we answer the first time, and as soon as we know its a bot, or a telemarketer, we save the phone number in our phone as a Z meaning that it is a telemarketer, etc.

Then when the next call comes in it shows that it is a Z and  we just ignore it.

Right now, we have over 40 - Z phone numbers on our log, and we no longer get bothered but we are adding at least 2 a day to the Z list.

Give up ... find a way to just know that they will never stop but there is a way for you to know in advance that they are calling and to just ignore them.
Let us know if you try this and it works for you, it works like a bomb for us.

Robocall, location shows as Portland, ME. No listing on switchboard.com but Intelius says it's a landline number. Suspect a spoofed caller ID.

Shows up as Local Web.  I think it's designed to leave a voicemail message because when I picked up and announced the office, there was no response.  I give this a 8.9 on the scam meter.

Called by a recorded message - Jenifer, from Google Plus.  Right, another to ignore.  'Local Web' per CID.

They claim they are with google plus... but then try to sell you online advertising for all kinds of companies

I told them I was interested in buying, the asked if I was the business owner and I said I was in charge of the website, they said "Great you're all set!" and hung up!  What a sales model!
