Got one from this number at 10:00 A.M. sharp, when I was out shopping. No message left

call received 7/13/2007   3:04 pm.   no answer  no message

I received a call from this number today and did not answer.  It was preceeded by the 44-207-422-0262 which threw me too.  However, I still registered the basic number as a violation of the do not call list.

I registered this call with the FTC as well.  Hopefully, they will do something with them.

recording about warranty for car.  It said my warranty was about to expire.  I don't have a warranty on either of my cars.  Obviously, this is just phone spam.  The recording also said to press 9 to be removed or to stay on for a specialist.  I decided to stay on so I verbally tell them that my number has been on the federal do not call registry as well as on my state's do not call registry since the inception of both of them.  When the recording was done, it then presented me with a busy signal.  I tried calling the number back, but it's invalid (44-207-422-0262).  I don't know what those two 4's are in front of the number.

I recieved this call from a company who stated that they were calling me to let me know that the warranty on my car was about to run out and that they were going to offer me an extended warranty for some amount, however the problem is that neither of my cars any more than 2 years old, and nowhere near the 60000 miles on one and 100k and when I asked the person which car were you referring to, they hung up on me, when I attempted to call the # back, I get a messege saying that the number was not in service, I have tracked the number down to the town of Sullivan Maine, and I will be attempting to reach their police department to report this fraud

Answering machine picked up. No message left.

Got a call from this number 7/9/07, with what looks like a long distance code of "4".  That is, caller ID showed "4-207-422-0262".  Where is THAT from?  Area code 207 is from Maine, prefix 422 is Sullivan, but the initial 4 - from Europe?
