i called the number back and got a "This number has been disconnected" msg.

They called at 8:09PM 2-12-08.  didn't leave a message.   They are located in South China ME.   Why is the country code 44 in front of the number on the caller id?

Called with pre-recording stating to lower credit card rates.  Push "1" to speak with a representative.  They asked my name, I only gave my first, then they asked my account number.  By then I knew it was a scam, so I asked what Company they were calling from.  She just repeated herself, and I repeated myself.  She then hung up.

Sad to say there's really nothing anyone can do to stop these trolls. Personally if I had their physical address I'd be there in a heart beat. I've reported these clowns before (I am on the do not call list) the reesponse came back as, in shorten version "Oh well"

Even more sad that someone will fall for it. But, those that do deserve every ounce of strees they ask for. Think about it. They don't even know what bank you're with. Stupid people deserve to get ripped off.

Stated "Account Services" as name of company.  I've had these calls before and spoke to a rude but very nlatant lady  as to why I was receiving calls when I was on the DNC list.  She flat out told me "Because most people are stupid enough to give their credit card numbers out and we run the bill up!"

At least she was honest!  What pisses me off is I tried to contact my states attorney general and sent complaints to the FTC and they basically say theres nothing we can do about it.....

Called 2-11-2008 to my number in Omaha Ne.  Automated call."Push #1 to speak to an operator" about lowering credit card rates.  Or "Push #4 to be removed from calling list."  I have pushed #4 previously but this doesn't stop them.I continue to get calls from different numbers.  They want personal info including SS number when you push #1. It must be a scam.

I got a call today from 207-445-0340 about ten minutes ago. My husband and I recently relocated to the south after living in Maine- whose area code is 207. As all my family still lives there, I tried to return the call, worried because I didn't recognize this number. The message I got says that this number is disconnected and no longer in service. I'm glad that I found this page! I surely would have been a sucker!

These guys just called me.  I didn't recognize the phone number but after "googling" it, I am glad I didn't pick up.

got a call today, called back got a voice mail for Natalie?  called back again said the number was disconnected.  This is second 207 number to call this week.  I wonder is it possible to spoof a Call ID number?

Got a call as above, and transferred to an operator.  She asked my name, I said "It doesn't matter - please put us on your do not call list."  Hangup.

Just got home and this number was on my caller ID!

Initially the automated call clams they are from my credit card company without naming it. I play along and talk to a woman who starts by asking me my name. I do not give it to her but instead ask what company she is calling for she says she works for all the major companies and lists them so I inquire further about why she is impersonating a credit card company and I get hung up on. Beware of these tactics they are just fishing for information.

Calls about getting me a low rate on all credit cards, then they ask for my cc account numbers. When I ask them to tell me the numbers they have on file for me, they hang up. Great fun!
