WHen answered the phone the caller Identified her self as Heather, and assured us there was nothing wrong with our credit (We just bought a new Car so I know in fact this is true...:)    )but they wanted to offer us a lower rate on the credit card. My Wife listened through the entire message and then pressed 9 or 7 or what ever to remove our number from their list. Rinse, wash, repeat!!  After about 4 or 5 iterations of this over the period of about 2 Months, she called the number in Caller ID and when the male on the other end answered, he asked if she was calling about the "reduced Interest Rate". My Wife said no , I'm calling to get you to remove me from your list. At this point the guy told my wife it was a waste of our time to call him,because it "wouldn't do any good" and hung up.

That is my mom and dad's home phone number...or their old number. They were forced to change it because people failed to look at the prefix before the 1-207. Trust me, my parents are not calling to harass you. They are simple country folk. If you have an issue with that then come see me and I will set you strait. And 'Jerry' on post number two. Thank you for your stupidity in posting their personal information on here.

I recived the very same number serveral times a day for serveral days.  I answered it the first but ignored the rest.  Just for curiosity, I found this website.  Thank you all for all the info!  I just wish there is a way to report such scam or to block the number.

I also got calls from this number but I never answer because we have caller ID at home and we don't answer any unknown numbers.... I had no idea it could be or it is a scam.... Today I decided to search on internet about the number just for curiosity and got all this information here..... Good to know.... Thanks you all..

rec'd calls daily from 011442074035019...this is actually a re-direct phone service that can redirect your call from anywhere in the world.  The guy on the other end could be in Malawi for all I know.  This particular number, beginning with 0207, with the 0 being dropped when you call, is a number from a central london redirect service....scam....cam....scam

Similar to those above. The message on my machine was to be able to 'reduce our mortgage'. I did the google search and it looks like some poor souls in the nowhere of Maine have their phone number hijacked by a foreign autodialing system. I did the FTC donotcall complaint anyway.

I would bet $1 with higher chances than the lottery that this ultimately traces back to Nigeria or some place well known for phishing and scamming.

Chances are pretty high that if you actually give these clowns ANY information your identity and credit will be stolen. This 'looks and smells' like telephone phishing - so don't 'step in it'....

Caller ID shows 207 to be ME which is Main however call envelope says the call came from 44 207 483 43 with the last two digits being to large for the envelope field to report, not sure but think the 44 routes the call from someplace totally different than Maine. Undoubtedly this may be a scam of some sort.

I keep receiving that number, but they seem to put a ' +44 ' in front of it. At least, that is what I think is happening.

I've been getting this call ever since I clicked on an ad that said I had won a laptop computer.  (At least 2 months ago) I canceled that email address to stop lots of spam from coming! It was just wanting personal information and I left quickly, but some info got through.  I have caller ID and don't pick up the phone for weird numbers, hoping to discourage it all.  I got the following when I researched that number on the web just now:

Alfred E. Marin Jr. and Patsy Marin, Marshville, Rd., Harrington, ME.

Account Services. about the 6th call I've gotten from them. I pressed 1 and when I complained, the man told me to shut up and then he hung up. I did a lookup on google and found the number was in MN. Filed a complaint with the FTC.
