They just called me.  I asked the funddraiser what percentage of my donation would go to the actual charitable organization and she said 15 percent.  I questioned where the rest goes and she said recordkeeping. THAT IS NOT HOW A REPUTABLE CHARITY OR FUND-RAISING ORGANIZATION WORKS!!

When I said that Saturday is not a good time to call. She hung up with no comment

It's rated as on of the worst giving charities in the country. Hardly any of the money actually goes to the children. Out of 3 million raised in one area $21,000 to the cause. Stay away scam thieves....

I am SO sorry about your daughter; please accept my condolences.  My husband died at 37 after 3 agonizing battles with colon cancer. The only thing he was thankful for was that it was him and not our daughter who had to suffer. It is sickening how far these doucheb*gs, who are a waste of air & space, will go!!  How small must their "equipment" be, to hide their disgusting criminal operation behind VERY, VERY sick CHILDREN?? Makes me sick to my stomach. There HAS to be a way to get back at them...

This number just called at 9 p.m.!  When I answered, she just kept saying "Hello, is Maxwell there?"  I told her we don't know anyone named Maxwell and she just repeated "Hello, is Maxwell there?"  Maybe it was a recording, but VERY annoying, especially for them to call a 9 at night!  The caller ID said "Children's Cancer," but I'm pretty sure it's some sort of scam.

I want this to stop immediately!

Got a call tonight Saturday at 7pm woman said she was with Cancer Children's something or other and sounded impatient with me on the phone. Didn't seem very friendly for being someone trying to get donations.  I told her I just needed to research her company before giving money and then she hung up.

This is exactly what happened with me - exactly.  Supposedly sending me something via my address that they already had, along with my name.

At almost 8:30 on a Saturday night a woman called looking for my husband.  When I asked who was calling, she apologized and hung up.  I don't have caller ID, but I used *69 and got this number.  A quick Google search got me here and there seems to be a theme.

This woman keeps calling at least three times a day and is very rude after we told her we were not interested and do not accept telephone solitations.  Its a crime to make harassing, obscene or annonymous phone calls under both federal and state laws.  If the calls continue (although blocked I still receive one ring) I will report this organization to the Maine State Police.  (childrens cancer recovery foundation #207-517-6179)

This is a scam--  Maine Children's Cancer and the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital are the two pediatric cancer centers in Maine -- and they do not fund raise like this.  My late daughter was a patient at both of these top notch facilities. These people call me often and I never answer --  I think the next time they do I will give them a piece of my mind.

i tried calling them back to ask them to stop calling me and their voice mail system was full. Leads me to believe they are not a  professional organization

Got two calls from this number, wanting money for Children cancer patients.. wanted 40 dollars, I said no I could not give that much, so then she went down to 30 then 25 and then 15.  I said I would give 15 then she wanted my debit or credit card.. told her I did not have one.. I would send a money order..told her I could not send until Sept..  She already had my name and address, I did not give it to her..I asked her if they had a web site and she said yes Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation.org.   I had talked to two different woman..one was doing the calling and then connected me to another to take the amount of the pledge and get info..sounded very agressive.. and then told me I was an angel..

I am receiving calls from 207-517-6179 EVERY day, numerous times daily -- I do not answer calls when the
caller's name does not show on the caller ID.  BUT -- I know what these calls are about:  raising money for
children being treated for cancer.  AND the fundraisers behind this "organization"  WILL NOT provide the
Better Business Bureau with details on how much of the money they raise goes to ACTUALLY HELP the
children.  What does this tell us ???  the people running this "CHARITY" are being paid VERY WELL.
BEWARE -- do not answer your phone if the call comes from 207-517-6179!

Scam. I had a child that went to the Maine Childrens Cancer Center in Scarborough - they are literally the only cancer center in Maine for children. They would never make this type of solicitation.

Got a call from this number on Monday 7/15/13 at 7:26p.  Didn't leave a message.  Came up on Caller ID as follows:

got a call at 432 pm. caller ID says childrens cancer. Never heard of it. The lady wanted a donation of 75-100 dollars. Then wanted a donation of 40-50 dollars. Wanted a debit or credit card information over the phone. I hung up.

Got a call at around 8 am in the morning.  No message.  calller id just said Portland ME.

This woman said she was from A.C. "group" looking for donation for money to make children suffering from cancer happy. - Wanted a pledge and wanted my address to send me an envelope - had a agressive approach - just hung up on her.
