They've been calling me, too. When I answer calls and don't recognize the number or caller, when they ask for me, I say, not home or not available. They hang up but always call back other days. There is another survey by mail that's going around -- CMS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Center for Medicare, Manchester CT. Inside it says Dept of Human Services in Baltimore, MD. The survey is ridiculously long. Why do these places think we should waste our time that way? And they send multiple surveys, all somewhat different. They say it's to help improve health care in this state. However, nothing should tie up the recipient for so long. Even though it has an official sounding name, I am treating it as spam or fraud. It requires giving so much personal information. No way!

Third day I've gotten a call from similar but not the same number. When I Google, it always comes up with something just like this. This is my cell phone they're calling - I never answer if I don't know the number, so hopefully they'll give up and go away. Why do they continue to bother people with these surveys, market research, etc. Just go away and leave us alone!!!

Called my cell twice - once using 207-615-0341 on Saturday; then again tonight using 0342. I never answer numbers I don't recognize so eventually they stop calling. Pain in the butt though. Someone suggested creating a contact that consists of all of these crazy numbers and assigning it a special ringtone. Now when I hear the ringtone, I know it's junk and don't rush to answer.

.She asked for an Estimator. Caller ID said Market research. When I asked what type of Roof she said she wanted to ask questions regarding low slope. It sounds like this is an independent research firm, hired by a variety of companies to conduct surveys. However when you do take surveys from these companies they seem to continue calling for years. I really do not foresee any of my estimators having the desire to answer questions.

Got a call for a survey from this number on my cell phone.  Once they started stating who they worked with, I interrupted and told them I wanted to be removed from their call list.  They hung-up immediately.  I got two calls from the 207-615-0340 and had added my number to the do-not-call list days prior to this call today.

The guy said it was a financial survey for low income on my voice mail, but called the first time at 7:30pm 4/19/2013 and just this morning at 10:52am 4/20/2013. He stated that he would call again or show up at my home in a few days to conduct a financial survey on low income.

I have no interest in taking surveys or having strangers show up where my family lives. The moment they show up is the moment the cops get called. So there, the only thing this person will achieve is to fill up my voice mail make dogs bark and get the cops called on him.
What gets me is I have a no contract phone that he called me on, and now I'm stuck trying to find out where my number was leaked from.
State and government business's have 800 numbers, I never answer the phone to unknown callers.

I've been called 2 days in a row, no message left. ID says "ME Research". As to whether this is legit or not, it violates HIPPA regs to ask people their medical history like this so this can't be legit.

Survey
Thanks for all the info! I have looked up and the one who said surveys are exempt from the DNC registery is correct (not to doubt it) Charities, surveys (if they are legit, not selling something) and bill collectors are exempt.
A few weeks ago I got a letter (form letter) saying I had been chosen for an important survey they State of VT (State I live in) was doing on healthcare, in order to provide better healthcare in the future. I should note VT has it's own State healthcare system that seems to work well and has for years. Though who knows with politicians and "Obamacare" and all that. It said they would be asking me about my health history and health care coverage, etc and my name wouldn't be used with this information (just the info would be put into the databaase for the state to use to provide better healthcare) It also said something about children between certain ages, if I remember right. It gave a website link and code to put in for more info and to verify it's a legit survey (like THEIR website or phone number woudln't say "we are a legit survey" anyway?) . I thought maybe there was a place to OPT OUT of this (the letter didn't mention this) so I looked it up. It was just a page to put the code in and do the survey online (which of course would link the code to my name and address. Actually, I think it just said "family at" my address) I didn't save the letter, and forgot all about it.
Tonight they called, said ME RESEACH, and left a message (I don't answer if I don't know who it is or what it's about) they left a message, sounded like a real person not a recording. Said it was the health history and insurance survey and it was very important they get my answers, and a representative would be calling back and trying in a few days. And if I wanted more information and to verify it's a legit survey to call the 800 number for the Dr (that someone else mentioned here).
I've been looking it up online, and doesn't look good. I don't want to give my personal health history and say if I have insurance coverage or not to strangers on the phone who say they are legit. This is like invasion of privacy or something. But, they make it sound like it's "the State of VT" (or they are doing it for them) I saw something on here someone said they told them it was the "State of GA" health dept or something.
It seemed like the State of VT must have hired this research company in ME to do this in depth, personal health survey for them, to see what medical history/conditions people have and if they have insurance coverage or did.. For what? Sounds like a great way to get people's name, address, phone and health problems, and if hey have insurance, to try and sell them things? Target them?
Maybe the state did hire them to do a survey (I googled this in various ways, and coudln't find anything about it, as to VT, like you'd think they'd have info about it on the web somewhere?) Seems like, also if it's State of VT hired them for this, they'd give a VT STATE phone number people could call if they wanted to verify it.
Going by what I've been reading here, sounds like I'll be harrassed by them from now on, and maybe have to change my phone number. Or, just let them call and leave messages. I have Vonage for phone and they don't have a way of blocking specific numbers. Does reporting them to the BBB really help? I could also call someone at the capital and ask. This is a small state and there's usually someone with time to check into this stuff and talk.  Attorney General's consumer line, etc.  Probably just ignoring them is best.
At first I thought it was really "the state" and i didn't have a choice, like the census, we have to legally fill that out. But this is still America, and my personal life (health wise) should be private, right? (of coure I could also lie LOL)

Survey
A few weeks ago I got a letter (form letter like not official) to my address saying I had been chosen to be part of a very important state (of VT) survey, to see the future medical needs of residents, etc. etc.  They would be calling to ask me questions about my past health history and medical coverage, then and now. Something like that. There was a code number on the letter I could go to their website for more information. I looked it up and all it had was a page to put the code in to take the survey online. Something about giving my personal medical history (which I don't really have, anything major or serious) and health insurance info, etc that seems invasive to me. And they make it sound like it's required (like the census you have to do) I forgot all about the letter and tonight they called (said ME RESEARCH and ME number) left a message saying they were calling for the health insurance survey and it was very important I answer their questions, and a representative will be calling back in a few days to try again. And if I wanted to verfiy it is a legit survey to call Dr- someone, and an 800 number. Of course, if this is a scam of some kind, they'd give a number of someone (or a recording) to call to verify it that says it's legit LOL  Making it sound like "the state of VT" has hired them to conduct this survey so it must be official and "required". Are surveys exempt from the DO NOT CALL registry? What I noticed and bothered me about this, there is no option to choose not to do it.  I shouldn't have to tell anyone my personal meical history and health insurance coverage (if any) with all that's going on with Obamacare and such, who knows what it is and will be used for. It says they won't use my name, address and phone number, but they obviously have it.

As of 9/13/12 I have a database of 138 unsolicited numbers from telemarketers since 12/20/11.  I too am registered with the government's Do Not Call registry.  I no longer answer the phone for phone numbers I don't recognize, instead I have set up my computer to answer the call after 5 rings which gives me plenty of time to view the caller id on my phone and identify the number.  If I don't answer the phone after 5 rings, the computer is set up to activate the fax software that comes with the Windows operating system.  In spite of that, I get repeat calls but they get repeat fax noise in their ears.  After receiving a few calls from the same company I simply report them to the FTC for harassment.  I also record the phone number, date and time of the call in a database so I can research who is violating the law and report them.

Catherine, I too received a call today, Sunday, at 12:03pm while IN CHURCH!! Also saying they were calling from Ga dept of comm health about Medicaid/Peachcare for kIds. We are also on a do not call list, I would like to know where they got my phone number from!! I've emailed the legit Ga Dept of Comm Health today about this, questioning if it is fraud or what. I surely won't be giving them any information!

I guess having been enrolled in a taxpayer funded educational system which teaches everyone English reading comprehension before puberty does not mean anything to certain impatient citizens. The following URL links to the FTC FAQ page which the DNC site nearly begged everyone to read before you registered your numbers. See items 28 through 32.

Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

When callers are truly exempt from scrubbing DNC, they do not "get around" anything in causing your phone to ring. You have a right to opt out from or not respond to a survey. You don't have a right to your own emotionally driven personal version of federal law.

i have received several calls for the last week from this number asking about me participating in peachcare for kids. They stated they are from Healthcare of georgia and doing a survey. I have made excuse after excuse and they continue to call. They are very annoying. They only thing that worries me is while I refused to talk to them, Maybe they are grasping for straws in hope to get lucky I currently do participate in the peachcare program.

Spoke to a lady said her name was January. She asked for the owner, I asked who the company was, she said Market research. When I got back on the line to tell her the owner was in a meeting I heard the tail end of her telling someone about people putting them on hold forever. Next time I will just hang up and save both of us the trouble.
