This is not accurate at all. The entire state of Idaho has an area code of 208..... I agree, this phone number in question is probably a scam, but the statement that ALL 208 area code numbers are a scam is absolutely ridiculous!

I recieved two calls from this number this morning, did not answer my phone since I did not recognize the number.  They also left no voice mailes. I googled the number and it led me here.  I also got a call from another 208 number yesterday three times, once no voice mails.

The other number I got calls from three times yesterday was 208-639-1206.  So both of these numbers quickly got put on my block list.  Thanks for this information everyone.

They aren't pedophiles. They are just scam artists who pick phone numbers at random to try to steal info. There's no way of knowing if its a child's cell phone or not because phone numbers, particularly cell phone numbers are changed daily. Your children are just a victim of random selection. You can block the number in your phones data base, or have your phone provider block it for you.

These "people" called my daughts' phone. I feel that they may be pedophiles. cause they're trying to contact my children. I thought the gov't was watching for people like this. I see that most people are getting these messages under the guise of a Verizon phone bill, but I've also noticed that an alarming number of them are cell phones they've purchased for their children. This phone scam is probably a pedophilia ring or whatever you call them, and I'm appalled that our gov't an spend so much of our tax dollars spying on honest Americans while pedophiles are stealing our children's cell phone info!

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. Do NOT answer their call because thet are NOT Verizon!  I contacted the real Verizon and told them I have received both TEXT MESSAGES and PHONE CALLS and Verizon fraud department WARNED ME NOT TO EVEN ANSWER THE CALL OR TEXT because the crum-bum low-lifes can then remote access your computer and cell phone and ALL ITS INFORMATION such as contacts, passwords, bank accounts, emails, where you are, when you are or are not home!  My question is: if the government is now spying on us through Verizon, isn't it ODD that now all of us who use Verizon are being hacked? Did Verizon sell my info OR are they not securing our information?  I am not comfortable with this.  SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG MY FELLOW GOOD COUNTRYMEN. May God protect us all.

Person Keeps Calling my Childs phone.

They have also called me from 208-629-8842 and 208-629-4291. Definitely fraud. I have reported to Verizon and had them block the numbers. I am also reporting to FBI, Inspector General and FTC when Gov't shutdown is over. If we all make official reports maybe they would go after these creeps who try/are stealing peoples financial info!

If you have received phone calls from this number or any other phone numbers with a 208 area code that do not leave a message,  be aware it is a scam of sorts. They are either trying to collect a payment from you (saying its late---remember phone lists can be gotten a hold of either through purchase or hacking and most people make a payment late at some point or another, thus making it a highly believable story) or they are trying to connect to/hack your phone line especially if it is a land line. They can gain access to your computer systems and phone content that way via internet connection. I have received two calls this week, one from this number and the other from 208-639-1206. I have to look up companies regularly for my job and from my experience, generally when a business number is google searched it will bring up the name of the company. I have googled both of these numbers and nothing connecting them to Verizon comes up. I would say, go to your local Verizon store and have them block any suspicious numbers. If you are late on your payment Verizon leaves a message every time. Just pay it in a store or go onto your secured online account and not just randomly pay someone who says they are Verizon when you don't know for sure.

How do they know I am with Verizon? Has my number been sold? That is what I would like to know. They call me about every few hours while I am working because I do not answer the phone. Thanks for all the heads up everyone. It's good to know there are still good people out there.

Verizon is calling from a Qwest line?  Not the usual number for Verizon.  Something says SCAM.

Per Verizon Wireless, this number is in no way associated with their company.  Do not provide them with any information!  If you are concerned about your account, contact VW via your handset by simply dialing *611.  They will provide you an email link to report the scam via text message if you request one.  Stay safe and be wary!

Thank goodness for websites like these. I get this call from other areas so this one threw me off. I find it funny that if it is Verizon, why would they not already know my information - they didn't even have a correct amount of what my bill (that I already paid, mind you) was!! SCAM SCAM SCAM.... There's one out there from Chase bank as well - when in doubt - tell them you'll call them right back and call a published, accurate number

Call saying they have an urgent message..then hang up.

They've called 3x's today around what would be lunch time and after you're home but before bed. They never leave a message if you "miss" the call. Looking it up here helped me to know what it could be about. I have Verizon as well.

A women called me on my cell phone during the weekday to tell me that Verizon had not received my payment and that she needed my credit card number right then. However, I knew I had made my payment and told her I would phone her back. After checking with my bank to make sure my check had cleared a month earlier - I see this was a scam. Sunday morning I had a call from Florida on my cell phone which I did not answer and have found bnoth numbers to be part of a scam using Verizon to get my credit card number.

They call and ask if you are a verizon cell phone user and want you to pay a bill its a scam turn them in idiots!!!!  We will catch them I promise I am sick and tired of these scams and am going to find this scumb bags now!!!!!!
