This number called today out of the blue claiming to be tech support. I knew within 30 seconds it was a scam and decided to run with it. Free entertainment, what the hell.  He said something along the lines of "there are a lot of viruses in your area" and then told me I needed to get to my computer and get online. Sure, whatever you say guy. At this point (~2min into the call) he told me he needed to transfer me to his supervisor, probably the guy who talks to the people dumb enough to fall for it up until now. After being on hold to be transferred the original guy told me that their internet was down, they couldn't transfer me and they would call back in 10minutes. Still nothing 30min later...bummer I was having fun.

These guys calls telling you they work with your computer, but are very careful not to tell you who they are or who they work for. They seem to be trying to make you paranoid your computer is going to get malware and all that stuff. Since you can't actually call this number, it's probably some guy over in India (as the one I spoke to had such accent) trying to get your personal info after he got a bogus number using a cell phone app or similar. Honestly, I had fun messing with the guy. Ask him his dating preferences if you want to really trip him up lol.  Their limited English only adds to making your day a little better by wasting some of his! ;)

Got a call from this number saying they were computer techs in my area and wanted to know if we needed our computer serviced. yea right..like I am going to let some unknown in my house. 9ml is loaded in this 239 area code.

kept insisting that I turn on my computer so he could fix it for free and that he would show me that it was infested with horrible viruses. his voice is heavily accented and sounded like he was getting upset when I refused to do what he said.

They called both house lines simultaneously.  This usually means they bought (stole?) information from someone.  Oddly the message on one line sounded like someone had butt dialed their cell phone.

This is the second phone call received within the last month.  ID on our phone says "Raft River".
When we answer this call......there is no conversation or words on their end at all.  This was the case
in both of the calls received from this number.  The first time I did nothing.  Today (9/30/11), I tried to
call back this number and the telephone does not ring.  I attempted to call three times, and the same result.  I am concerned about this, as there is never anyone on the line when I answer and I would like
to stop these calls.  Thank you.

Called about "diabetic care club" they wanted me to verify medical information.  I asked for their phone number and was told they could not give it to me at the time.  So I hung up. They called back with the number and again wanted to speak to the diabetic in the house. When I asked where they got the info from they would say.  I then asked them to take me off their call list.  They hung up before I finished the request

I answered, and the caller said that she needed to verify some information.  Then she asked to speak to the "diabetic in the house".  When I told her that there was no diabetic in this house, she said okay and hung up.

Let voice mail pick up.  No message--just hung up before voice message complete.

Called and left message. Male voice heavily accented....could not understand what he was saying. Caller ID gave only the number.

Called us 8/19/11 at 8:32pm, left no message.  When I called the number back I received a recording saying that number was disconnected.  What gives?  Worried us as our son lives in that area code and my worst fears were then on alert.
