I found a condo rental listing in Ann Arbor, Michigan, emailed the person and got this email back. Pretty bummed it turned out to be a scam.

Also, many real estate agents are not charging fees for home rentals
so that is another safer way to go.

Craigslist is a hot bed of bad ads. It's a shame because in the past
it was a great tool to use for real estate among other things.

I wouldn't go anywhere to meet anyone alone and make sure you know who you are dealing with. Check the address of the home against www.trulia.com or www.zillow.com. these are legitimate home selling and rental websites. You already know his number is false as myself and others have flagged it.

Always check the details and NEVER SEND MONEY to anyone.
There will always be another home for you.

I also got FALSE EMAIL with this phone number 209-201-0158 from an inquiry I made about a home on CRAIGSLIST LONG ISLAND NY in Southampton, NY. As you can see this is the same SCAM ARTIST as noted above. They also included this email address: d.ac36@rocketmail.com.

Be careful people. We are living in desperate times and people are coming up with all kinds of scams to get our hard earned money.

My red flag was the rental was about 5000 dollars too little for the home *Luis Batista was advertising.
I simply took the address and checked on www.trulia.com and realized the rental was much more money.  Also check the spelling. Most of the thieves are not great spellers and do not write English well.
BE AWARE and don't meet anyone or send any money unless you know what you are getting.
Don't be a VICTIM to these thieves. Be alert. Save yourselves the anguish these robbers can bring you.

sending false information regarding a home rental in Stamford, CT and they want me to fill out a rental form, online, and send it to them.
