Called my cell phone (registered with Do Not Call for over 6 years). Heather from "Card Member Services." Reported number to Do Not Call registry.

I received  a call from this number this afternoon on my mobile phone. I'm in CA. Didn't answer. No message.

Rcvd call 3:19... no message either.. I'm in Nebraska... Obviously are calling mass amount of people...

Caller ID on my personal cell phone was from Fresno CA.  Did not answer as I know no one in Fresno, no message left.  I am in CA.

Got s call from this, I'm in Oregon

Just got a call to my cell phone. Didn't recognize the number, so didn't answer.  HOWEVER....

The people behind this call most definitely bought my number from whoever is using 253-236-2044.  That number called me several times over a few days.  When I finally decided to answer to see who it was, there was no one there.  The purpose of that call was to verify that my number was "good".  Once I answered, they knew it was a valid number and then sold it to these people and at least two others who are now constantly calling my cell.

Actually all Master cards start with 54 so good thing you hung up! Definitely a scam.

Phising for accord info. I kept them on the phone as long as I could. They asked for accord number I told them it was 4538 2487 Allah sucks dicks. He asked me to repeat so I said 453 2487 I piss on the Koran he sent me to supervisor that hung up on me

I got the same call as Matt a few minutes ago. This is definitely a scam. Do not give them any information!!

That's hilarious! If I hadn't been at work when I got that call, I would have done the same. Scary how many scammers are out there - but we might as well mess with them a little and waste their time so they don't hook someone who isn't as aware of these things. Awesome idea!

PHISHING SCAM: I had the same call many people above are getting; offering to lower my interest on my credit card. I asked for a call back number to confirm they were legit, got hung up on. VERY sketchy. Trying to figure out how to report it to authorities, but getting the run around. Any ideas?

Just received a call from this number.  I didn't answer and they left no voicemail.  Judging by these other posts, I am glad I didn't pick up!

same thing as everyone else.  heard "heather, take advantage of..." and hung up

called my cell phone it was a machine I hung up

Ditto -- called back and clicked 1 to be removed

My phone number is on the do not call list and they called me.
As soon as I answered they hung up.
I called back and the only thing that the recording would say is
"If you would like to be removed from our promotions press 1 now"
Then a beep....and it would repeat itself all over again.
I'm still turning this number into the Attorney General!!
A "NO CALL LIST" is just that....NO JUNK CALLS!!

Caller is a scam.  Won't give any information.  Called my cell and then my home phone.

They just called me stating lowering of credit card interest rate. Talked to person from india and they told me I had a card from Chase\Bank of America . How I have 1 CC from 2 different banks is beyond me and just plain stupid. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they hung up immediately.

Got a call from this # at 8:11am MST / 9:11am CST. Didn't answer because I don't know anyone from Fresno. Looked it up online and found all of this garbage.

209-220-1956 called and wanted to know if I needed an escort for New Years Eve. Wife  told me to tell them no.

We all have to start doing what I do.  I press "1" and then talk to the person.  And keep giving them a line of crap.  Waste their time for as long as you can until they get pi$$ed off and hang up.  Sometimes the person is just an employee but other times they are people that pay for calls to be routed to them.  Every time the company that called you routes a call to one of these people the person has to kick back to the company.  

One guy got so mad at me he started cursing and telling me what I should do with myself.

Just got the call from this number at 9:40AM on my cell. No message.

I just got the 1956 number call. Pressed 1, told her she best not call again... Immediate hang up. This has been ongoing for months.. Getting really irritating.

12/13/2012: Inbound Caller ID indicated 'Fresno, Ca'  209-220-1956. It was an Automated message from 'Heather at account services' offering to lower my  interest rates.  The message tried to prompt me to Press 1 to talk to someone or Press 2 to discontinue further notices..... I inputted option # 2, I then heard dead air, the call was terminated. It is a lame SCAM.

I just got a call from the same number.  I stayed on the phone and had a nice chat with a gentleman who had an accent.  I think he was from India.  He started off by thanking me for being a loyal customer and making payments on time.  He offerred to lower my interest rate.  This was suspicious right from the start so I was sure not to give him any information and would advise that no one else does either.  He didn't know my name and, when I asked him which credit card he was talking about, he said "This is for your VISA Master Credit account with Chase, Bank of America, ...." blah blah blah.  He just rattled off a bunch of generic information with big bank names at the end.  Each time I ask him which credit card specifically because we have several, he just repeats that line again.  Now I ask which bank he works for and he tells me that he works for some third party so I start asking why he has my information and which bank provided it to him.  So he starts saying that he doesn't have any information.  I explain that, if he knows that I've been making my payments on time, they have information and I want to know where they got it.  He keeps saying that there is no information and eventually adds that the computer told him.  I start asking for a supervisor and he just keeps saying he has no information.  I keep cutting him off to ask for a supervisor and eventually yell into the phone.  He hung up.  I called the number back and got a generic message saying to press 1 if I want to be placed on their do not call list.  THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!
