Just got a call saying "Windows Service Center" was getting error reports from my computer. The guy on the phone got mad the more questions I asked him, obviously a scam. Asked them not to call back, but I'm going to have some fun if they do.

I also got a call from this number.  Told the guy I didn't need him to fix anything, and the caller was yelling saying "you will be calling me to fix it".  I yelled at him and hung up.  These scum buckets are offshore and try to imitate the people here in the USA. The next time he calls I'm going to pretend that I'm doing what he's instructing me to do and really pull his chain until he gets frustrated and hangs up.  Even though I have blocked these numbers in the past, they use another phone number to continue to harass you....

This number keeps calling about 2 time a day, for the last 3 weeks.
The last time, I said, "it's great you called,  can you hold for 5 seconds?

Received several calls, this morning at 6:30 am

These tools are ringing several times a day, despite my number being TPS registered and the phone set to reject international calls (I'm in the UK, the number shows as up as USA). I usually let the answering machine deal with it, but I think I'm going to answer it next time. Sounds like I can have some fun stringing them along for a bit to help their phone bill climb...

Took a call listed as 1 9798 2344079 to my land line. Answered and silence at caller end. I waited a while and then faint female voice said "goodbye" and hung up. So no idea WTF that was about. Checked on Google and this site was first on list. dl

I also have been getting calls from a man, with an accent, saying he works at Windows and that my computer has been infected with downloaded files. All he needs me to do is to log onto my computer and he will kindly help me remove the infected file. Obviously, I did not follow through and told him that his phone call seems like a scam, which he quickly started to defend his credibility. They've been calling from all sorts of numbers, but always with a 979 area code.

Whenever I answer and don't let it go the voice mail the caller says "goodbye".    These calls come in at random times.

These scumbags called me at 9 and 10:30 last night!!!!!  

they've been calling here a couple of times a week , this time I answered the phone CUMPUTER CRIMES DIVISON, can I help you , do you want to file a report, hello. seemed to slow him down for a minute . now I will go the FCC complaint form and file another claim on him.

They keep calling me wanting access to my laptop because of " a problem with Windows" and I keep telling them I'm on to their scam and hang up, but they keep calling.

This guy claims my PC is sending out errors to the internet---ha ha ha - have not been on PC for 2 weeks - LMAO.  Told him to take his scam somewhere else.

Got a call form 979 823-4079 (sounded foreign).  Said they got a report that my computer was hacked.  Wanted me to go in front of my computer and type stuff in.  Said he was from Microsoft Windows Service.  I'm sure he wanted to access my computer.  I told him my computer was in the other room and that I have to write down the instructions.  There was a lot of noise in the back ground.

I am positive that this was a scam to hack into my computer.

The ragheads called again today to try to take over our computer. They apparently don't speak enough English to understand what was said to them yesterday was negative and quite demeaning. Their skills in scamming are truly pathetic.

These pond scum are using this number and (278)533-8578.  As they are calling from India, id anyone knows how to cuss in Hindi, please post how to to do it.  I SO want to tell the a**holes calling what I think of them, their Mother AND the cow she rode into town on!!!!!!!!!!

Two calls from them tonight, one at 9:30pm, Tisk Tisk...  Don't know who they are, nut on do not annoy list and in no mood for scammers!!!!!  Leaves no message!

They called me too- but I was aware that it was the raghead scammers calling, and I got the best of them! I would advise you, the next time you get a call from a number you are suspicious of, simply don't answer!

I was a victim of this scam. They didn't get my money but they rendered my computer useless. I had an issue with Verizon McAfee security last night and when they called this am I thought it was related. They took over my computer saying it was free from Windows 8 and then insisted I pay $399 to restore the computer. I gave them my AMEX # and they refused it wanting another card. I refused and now I am without my computer which is 10 months old.  Don't answer this call and block it. They are from India but caller ID reads TX

My elderly mother received a call yesterday from thus number. She answered her phone because it said Texas and she has a nephew visiting there.  Anyway, when caller began telling her about her computer, she informed them that she didn't gave one and then inquired if he (man calling) wanted to buy her one. The caller hung up.

I received a  this morning for this number and googled it, which led me to thus site. I, too, am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY but these people are crazy.

These are the Microsoft-Windows scammers-- but i was prepared for them! The female caller, who was obviously stationed in Bombay or Calcutta started talking about problems with my windows, and I kept her on the line for about 10 minutes, telling her we have Anderson windows in our home and they all seem to be fine--none broken, even though we did have a hailstorm the other night. She gave up trying to explain to me what she wanted (to gain access to our computer for fraudulent purposes) and put on a male, (another one of "those" people) at which point I told him I knew all about his scam, and referred to him in rather demeaning terms before terminating the conversation. I Don't get to speak with completely ignorant people very often, so I found it very amusing, and will do it again as my schedule permits---try it it's fun!

Police can't help much, but it's good to make a report.   These people are located in India more or less beyond US jurisdiction.  You can protect yourself with a call blocker, however.

Actually, they are located in India, and they are not Arabs.  Most scammers are Hindu, a few are Muslims.   Either way they're criminals.  They don't work for Microsoft.  

I understand how you feel, but there's not much anyone can do to stop these scammers from initiating calls.  You can protect yourself with a call blocker and also try not to pick up calls you don't recognize.

You need a blocker that will silence the first ring.

Phone ID said "TEXAS" , no message left and I did not answer it . This is still getting pretty annoying  even when on a blocked phone (phone will still ring once) .
