The hucksters are at it again! Even if one is looking for a job, while still employed, it happens that because of the fact that my resume is online, my phone number is available. I now get all kinds of "job offers" for repackaging scams, call center work, of some other too good-to-be-true money-making gimmick. This also means that those that want to send information about "education" opportunities. It is also true that some of those job websites are such that there is a default, where a particular box for the "education information" is checked, and some of those sites have that box in a more obscure location on the page that one fails to remove the check from that box to opt out. It is like those sites are intentionally deceptive. I have learned to look out for those type of things on those pages.

Several months ago, I received a call from one of those people that wanted to offer me an "education opportunity" at one of their schools. The trouble is that those schools have shaky credentials, dubious accreditation, and are just interested in making money. If you then follow their recommendations and apply to their colleges, they will provide financing by putting people into great debt, by granting student loans. Those are degree mills (fake degrees or worthless degrees), which burden the unsuspecting with enormous debt. The bottom line is that it is all fake!

My recommendations:

1.) Hang up on those people!
2.) Attend a regular public or private college or university! Not a degree mill!
3.) Avoid getting into debt!
4.) If such callers are a nuisance, block their telephone number and report it!
5.) Understand that those people are very eager to see you part with your money!
6.) Be very selective of which job sites are used!
7.) Do your homework and take nothing at face value what is out there!

Unfortunately, those hucksters have now found fertile ground on the internet, cooking up all types of scams, attempting to rob people of their money, or proffering up all type of gimmicks. These phonies should get a life, and their frauds should be exposed out into the open!

This number has been calling me several times a day for the last few days.  I never answer numbers I don't recognize and figure they will leave a voicemail if they need something.  They never leave a message.

After reading other comments on here, I am inclined to believe it has something to do with a job search I filled out last week.  I have no interest in talking to any of them and wish they would  just stop calling.

Nancy you are correct.I opened up my number to telemarketers.So I just blocked their numbers in my phone.Now when they call my phone will never ring and no voice mails either.

They keep calling me, too. I am on a lot of job hunting sites. I just don't answer, but it's annoying.

They called.  I did not answer, rejected the call, and blocked the number on my phone.  The ensuing silence is golden.

Job Placement agency? All the way from Modesto, CA? I live all the way down in Nevada. Any job agency that calls will register with its name on my caller ID, not a the name of the place where the caller is calling from, besides, I never applied for any jobs in Modesto.

Don't like it when i receive early morning wake-up calls like these! My number is registered on a Do Not Call list, and would appreciate it if whoever this company is will simply stop calling my number.

robo caller/dialer...no answer on other end

I have started receiving calls from this number multiple times and day over the last few days.  I don't know who this is and refuse to answer the call.  They never leave a message and whatever they want, I don't want.    In addition, they are calling from out of state and frankly this is harassment!I will report this to the phone company and the police if it doesn't stop.  The police will trace the calls if you give them permission!

Some creepy old man who said my name right away.. He stated my name and my town and state. Said he was with a job company but said no more and hung up

I got a call from (209)248-0016 also. They never left a message but I am not on any listings or am I looking for a job.

This number keeps calling me and never leaves a message I don't know who it is nor do I want them constantly calling if the call is so important that whoever keeps calling me than maybe they should leave a message

When I answered, there was only heavy breathing. I said hello until they hung up.

209-248-0016 just called. Nothing but heavy breathing, then they hung up.  Caller ID says unknown name.

I get these calls every day and one time I answered it and no one says anything and I cannot understand why they keep calling me.

Ridiculous!!! Hoping for a job and become a victim of a telemarketer!!! I could accept it if they called (once) and left an automated advertisement... but to continually harass us for trusting a job seeking site is unethical!

I have gotten 2 or more calls a day for the last month. It is not a number programed in my phone so I don't answer and they don't leave msg.  My resume is on job hunt sites.  Just want them not to call me anymore.  If they would leave msg then I could call back.  Just stop calling.

Actually they call you even when you select NO - i do not want to further my education.  It's very annoying.  They call numerous times a day and once you block their number they just use a different one.  Block Block Block

Yes, I am on several job hunting sites and am getting 3 or 4 calls a day.  I am going to unsubscribe to a couple of job hunting sites..  It may not help now but it is better than doing nothing to defend from these sick people.

This number keeps calling me.  Never leaves any messages.  Calls 2-3 times a day.  I finally called the number back and told the person - who answered and never identified himself - to never call my number again.  I better not receive any more calls from this number.

I got called on March 14 2014, Asking me if I am looking for a job on  therightjob.com.  It is all a SCAM!!!!! I have done job searches in the internet for jobs in the past and I was scam once. Don't trust anyone nor send any money via expresspay. Don't be a victim like I was.

I don't know whom is calling me from this phone number. I think that it is from a college or university for enrollment.
