Same as above happened today. I have items listed on craigslist. I just stoped responding to his texts, he wanted personal info sonhe could send me a check. I didn't just fall off a turnip truck!!!!

I received text messages from this number this weekend as well (209-322-9764) offering to send me a company check from Fedex for the amount of the furniture I had for sale as well as the money for the delivery charge of the truck he was sending to pick up the items at my convenience. I was very skeptical and immediately told this person that I was sorry, but I only accepted cash. They kept on about how the check would be just like cash and it wouldn't be an issue. They kept asking for my name and address and I tried to explain that I don't like giving that information out to just anyone. Plus, this person had not offered any information about themselves so I asked for theirs in return before I gave mine. I got a text back repeating what they needed. I told them if they wouldn't even give their name I wasn't interested. I got back the name James Jeffery. Then I started questioning if he was in CA how did he find my listing in SC. He called me instead and told me to just give him my name and address so he could write the check. He wouldn't answer my question. I continued to talk and told him I was going to have to pass because when I googled his number I found all these websites saying he is scamming people and I had no desire to be next. He just stuttered and hung up on me. Lol

craigslist scammer.........sends you a check for your item , you send extra $$ to the shipper blah blah blah....his check is fraudulant......you get stuck IF you did send the "extra" to his "shipper" ( him)... another scam...they send you a check for to much money.....they text you right away, my assistant by mistake sent to many fund ( their words) I trust you to do the right thing, when you receive the check you will refund the difference, keep an extra $50. ( or whatever) for your trouble....bottom line.. YOUR BANK MY SAY CHECK CLEARED but if it's fradulant/fake or whatever they will charge you back!

Got a text message responding to a Craigslist ad.  The texter used the name McKrahm and that is all the info that he gave.He actually mailed something from California via priority mail so that I could follow the tracking. He intercepted the mail and had it sent back to CA. This is now in the hands of the Postmaster who is tracing the package and this "209" phone number.  I hope they catch the scammer.  Honest and good people try to conduct good business and all the creeps in the world come out of the wordwork.  They'll have a higher power to answer to in the end.

This number text me and wanted to purchase tires from a Craigslist ad. Said he was in Salem, OR.  Wanted to send a check to my bank and have them shipped from MS to Oregon. Wldnt give company name or any other details

Answered in text to an ad I have on Craigslist. Scammer wanting me to ship my truck I had for sale from Kansas to California after his check cleared my bank.
