I have been getting so many junk calls lately, my strategy now is to answer the phone on speaker and just let silence happen (or, they get to hear whatever is on TV at the time).  You can always tell it's a junk call because there is a long lag before anyone says anything.

This number showed up on caller ID last night so they got the speaker-phone treatment.  The person, after about a 10 second lag, asked for me BY NAME.  So if it is a telemarketer, they got my name and number from somewhere which suggests this isn't a robocall.

Constant calls with no one on the other end.................

well, nothing has stopped...they continue calling because the repugs love to protect phone harassers..like our legislaturely-misminded supremes...all political hacks--slimeballs

Calls from that number to my residence are unwelcome.  Stop them.

It's Amnesty International  and not a robo call - a real human.  Go ahead and talk.  I'm sure they will stop calling if you tell them to.

I get this call everyday.  Please make them stop!!!!

must be telemarketer - did not leave message.  has called several times even though our number is on the do not call list.

We get called by this number at least once a day. They never leave a message so we presume it's a telemarketer. We have never picked it up so we aren't sure but we'd like to eliminate these calls. We have filled up the do-not-call chances on our current phone system.

This call shows Lodi, CA.   I screen all calls, and unless I know the caller I don't pick up.  Just curious who this is calling so many times in a day.

I just got an unsolicited text message on my cell phone that I HAD TO PAY FOR!!  So I immediately filed a complaint with the FTC.  You should do the same.

If the FTC receives enough complaints, they will take action against the spammer.  They can't investigate if you don't complain. So do your part to put theses spammers out of business!

This also works well with the UNSOLICITED CALLS from DEBT COLLECTORS for collection calls that DON'T BELONG TO YOU (where the DC is calling for the former owner of the number they called).  I tell the DC I'm not the person they are looking for and if they don't take my number off their call list, I'll be filing a FTC Form 1088 Complaint against them and forward a copy to them.

When I ask them for their address to send their copy of the 1088 Complaint Form to, they hang up on me!

They rarely call back after that.  But if they do.....

I have received two missed calls on my *cellphone* from this number, yesterday and today. The first
time, I tried calling back, and got some answering machine or phone tree. I have no idea who this is.

Are not robocalls to cell phones illegal?

I've been getting numerous calls from this number but I don't pick up because I have caller ID and figure it must be a robo call.
